KJ would actually be a good idea tbh. He did well on PvX, no abuse. c? --92.3.45.23 22:42, 8 February 2010 (UTC)

eh[edit]

I'm terrible at detecting sarcasm on IRC. Also, not that it's any more concrete an excuse, I didn't actually know KJ was banned until Pling pointed it out to me. I apologize for any disruption this might cause/have caused. Vili 点 User talk:Vili 22:55, 8 February 2010 (UTC)

Maybe you can nominate Briar while at it? -Cursed Angel Q.Q 23:14, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
Someone already did. <3 --Briar 23:39, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
I don't think just because you guys have fun on Irc that it should be brought here. That is very childish as the wiki is the wiki and nothing outside should be brought in to interfer or cause trolling. It should be brought in only as evidence to help in a few to rare cases. I'm not really sure what your point was with that other than to push an irrelevant agenda. Some comments were made on IRC that I took as serious support for a bcrat nom of KJ, at least two from admins. None of them seemed willing to follow through, though, thus this nomin ation. But I'm bad at detecting sarcasm since apparently those were jokes. Vili 点 User talk:Vili 00:15, 9 February 2010 (UTC)
He's been nominated in the last few elections, so I'm surprised it was removed. Especially since I think he was banned for one of the previous ones as well. -- FreedomBoundUser Freedom Bound Sig.png 00:18, 9 February 2010 (UTC)
(re)@Vili, That's your mistake. If they really want to be "nominated", they can do so themselves, but I think a nomination should be if someone really deserves the spot or not. Not just because someone wants them there. I believe with the last few elections that we've had enough jokes. It should be clear to be a serious matter as this is a responsibility, not a fun moment to "Oh, I'll get ops" for those that don't have any or a matter of feeling "higher" authority, but a position where you're chosen as an important leader to make the decisions needed that most sysops can't do or where a problem arises that a sysop cannot handle. I feel that some fail to realize that message. Kaisha User Kaisha Sig.png 00:21, 9 February 2010 (UTC)
What election policy are you reading? If only self-nominations were accepted (like with RfAs) there would hardly ever be any candidates. Over 90% of the candidates are always nominated by someone else. For that matter, self-nominations have always been losing bids, as far as I know.
Moreover, although it can be a hard truth to acknowledge for some, the bureaucrat election as well as the position itself are still largely jokes. (This does not imply that I agree with such state of affairs.) There have been some cases where bureaucrats actually, you know, did stuff - but that's unusual and mostly dependent upon when certain juicy arbcomms took place. Misery was sort of exceptional in that sense, since he wielded bureaucratic power pretty much as if he had ops...to assume that any other candidate would do the same is being unrealistically optimistic (although I do have high hopes for Aric, should he win a seat). Therefore, even if a questionable candidate like KJ could by some miracle win, it honestly wouldn't mean much of anything. You also have to consider what the actual chances would be... even though this is a "double election", KJ has more than enough enemies that he would never win, and certainly not with this pool of candidates so far.
Anyway, I'm fully aware that because I've trolled the elections in the past no one trusts me now, but... if you just want to chastise me, please try to learn from Cursed Angel's example and do it succinctly. Vili 点 User talk:Vili 00:34, 9 February 2010 (UTC)
Hm. Well, it shows how little some know about Bureaucrats and their jobs to claim it's a joke. Only ones that would know it's not, are those that have actually had to do things and I can say that there are a few that fit the list and there are, honestly, very few on that list. Kaisha User Kaisha Sig.png 00:42, 9 February 2010 (UTC)
Yes, as a bureaucrat and sysop for year(s) on two wikis I definitely am not on that list. Vili 点 User talk:Vili 01:02, 9 February 2010 (UTC)
