Talk:Guide to farming Lightbringer promotion points

I corrected the walk-through section where it was previously stated that in an 8-person team, each person gains less experience and gold, but the farming is faster. In fact, the experience gained is exactly the same in all respects, regardless of the number of players. This is true of every area of Guild Wars. Pucktrapper 09:03, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

I think that is wrong but since I'm at work I can't test it. Even Experience says it is split.--Aratak 13:35, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
If 1 person + 7 hero/hench kill something, the player gets 1/8 of the total exp. available based on their level. If 8 people kill something, each gets 1/8 as well. However, if 1 player, no other player/hero/hench in the area kills something, that player gets all of the available exp. Solo farm any high-level areas, you'll routinely see "+256" exp numbers when things die.--Fourth Horseman 13:39, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

New Entry[edit]

Sadly one can't go back and get these bounties if you have gone on through more difficult levels (just like you couldn't get bounties while leveling later in NF after L15 - you were considered to good to need it and were told so by the guard who used to hand out bounties.). I just completed the mission through the Vortex. But one can still find reliable Lightbringer bounty givers outside on the bone palace and at the Dzagonur Bastion. There is a quest in there that changes the normal enemies outside to Margonites (and you get 4 allies to help you fight), You can now fight clerics and executioners. All should give you LB points but I watched my LB meter but it it did not move my LB "meter" up a single point after several major battles & victories (probably because a few LB points were part of the payoff) So skip that quest for now. The only thing I can find, as slow as it is to simply map in to the Dzagonur Bastion kill, get your bounty and kill as many Djjin and Roaring Ethers as possible and then map back in and walk back out and repeat endlessly. This seems to be the only way to farm for someone like me who has blundered his was past the easy way to get up to the max LB level. If anyone knows of anything better or easier (I'd love to do it with Wurms but can't find a BIG enough place for it. The Bone Palace only offers up a few and the res shrine is on the wrong side. I can tell when I'm getting LB points and so far the D.B. city farming strategy is the only one that works consistently and easily. Thescottguy 11:00, 3 January 2008 (UTC)thescottguy

I could be wrong but were you in HM?

Video[edit]

Ok, Re-uploaded this finally. Link is just below this. As per the old comment I had here, if anyone feels like putting this on the main page/whatever, feel free. I just don't want to edit the main article for something like this without a bit of approval. Noelahg 17:07, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

Video on H/H farming these points in the sulfurous wastes, using the guide on the main page: http://files.filefront.com/LBSS+farm+hhwmv/;13414602;/fileinfo.html

Number of Points[edit]

Myself and several other people in my group checked last night to see how many points are earned on the Sulfurous Wastes run. It is exactly 666 points, not 630 as the article states. This has been tested twice by me and three other times by group mates, so I am sure of it. - Killaya --76.188.182.17 23:03, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

Another area?[edit]

I completed the quest so i can't confirm yet, but in the city of ahdasim (probably misspelled) there is a quest i THINK it's called gift of the Djinn in which tons and tons of djinn spawn in the city there is a bounty for killing them right by the entrance and they are the only monsters in there when the quest is active. i'll look into this a little further tommorow with my monk since she hasn't done this yet.

Another area good for LB farming in HM is the Domain of Fear, especially if someone still has the quest "Last Patrol" active.
This quest will add Captain Yithlis and his "Last Patrol" to your party, making the run much easier):
- Start from Gate of Fear, take the monster hunt bounty and talk to Capitain Yithlis (if you have the quest)
- Start killing monsters to the East and work your way counterclock-wise
- Keep close to the wall as you progress. You should have reached the minimum of 25 kills when you reach the second shrine.
- Very close to the shrine is the Shrieker of Dread, which you should kill with reasonable ease.
- Not very far to the Southeast, in the hill on the middle, is the Storm of Anguish. Kill it to finish the run.
- This run takes a bit under 20 minutes (15 with a good and experienced team)and yields 550-600 LB points in HM.

Image Edit[edit]

I added numbers to the map of elemental farming in The Mirror of Lyss, since the instructions were not clear to me on which elementals to kill.

Nightfallen Garden[edit]

I haven't quite made it past the Jenur Horde mission but wanted to farm Lightbringer Points to get better effects from the LB Skills. I understand that the Mirror of Lyss farming route is good for quick runs but I found that the Nightfallen Garden gives so many more points. There are bounties for every type of creature in the area and although I haven't figured out the best route to go through yet it looks like someone could easily get over 400 points per run (as opposed to 76 from Mirror of Lyss). Of course, I am doing this "run" with just Heroes & NPCs. I can do research on this and give time to complete and how many LB Points I get (if anyone wants to know). --RandwulfX 07:30, 11 March 2010 (UTC)
