A question on two questions[edit]

Two questions stumped me. First, it says that there still be secondary professions. Second, it says that there will not be mounts. I thought that in both cases nothing was announced. Alaris 16:49, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

I have links! Admittedly I might have jumped the gun a little, especially with the mounts one - but by that point my enthusiasm for my task had waned. :) Take a look at these quotes and see what you think. If you think the evidence isn't strong enough please remove them.
Mounts reference; Gamona
gamona: Will there still be teleporters in Guild Wars 2 or will players have to rely on mounts or similar means of transportation?
Arena.net: We think having teleports in the game is a very cool feature, especially when you're playing with your friends. Instead running through the world endlessly, you can jump to any important location by just "pressing a button". We always try to avoid artificial bottlenecks in our games, so there will be no radical changes to the teleport/transportation system in Guild Wars 2.
Secondary Professions; Eurogamer
Eurogamer: Will we be able to multi-class like we can in the current game?
Erik Flannum: Yes. Our current plan is to include the primary and secondary professions that we had in the first game.
We're still looking at various systems as far as how many classes we're going to have, which ones we keep around from the old game and how many new ones we want. So we're still trying to work out the particulars, but I think it's pretty safe to say we'll have the primary and secondary professions.

Glad to have the confirmation on primary/secondary. I've always loved that feature in GW. As for mounts, I read into that statement that you won't need mounts for traveling and getting to places. But that nevertheless leaves the possibility of mounts being present for other purposes. If that's ok, I'll reword that part in the text. Alaris 02:19, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
Please do. You don't have to ask. Anything I put up I intend for anyone to mash-up in true wiki style. --Aspectacle 03:50, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

More playable races?[edit]

Is this confirmed? -- Gordon Ecker 02:22, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

In as much as someone at ArenaNet has said it will be so. Of course I'd take anything said about the game 2 years from release with a grain of salt. :) Reference Eurogamer Interview
Eurogamer: Guild Wars only featured one race, the humans, and steadily added more playable classes to the original line-up. What sort of choice will we have in Guild Wars 2?
Erik Flannum: Right now we've got five races announced, and we're not saying exactly how many, but that's not the total amount that we'll have, we're going to have more in the future.
Aspectacle <3s the Eurogamer article. :) --Aspectacle 02:33, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
Are we sure this is the exact quote? I read a similar quote but it left the impression that these additional races might be added after the release in an expansion... -- Frozzen User_Frozzen_sig.PNG 02:59, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
Sorry >.> the FAQ answered my question for me and has already been reworded ... -- Frozzen User_Frozzen_sig.PNG 03:00, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

Deletion[edit]

The GFDL prevents us from deleting this page without full attribution for the Guild Wars 2 wiki version. -- Gordon Ecker 03:16, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

Does it make a difference that as the writer of the first version of the page that I don't especially care whether or not I get proper attribution? :) --Aspectacle 06:06, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
No, but IIRC a list of the authors of all copyrightable edits on the talk page of the GW2W version would be sufficient. -- Gordon Ecker 07:57, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
Very well. I thought I'd see whether it was going to be an option. --Aspectacle 21:45, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
I've exported and imported the page's full revision history at http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Guild_Wars_2/FAQ. I intend to do the same thing with this talk page in a few days if no one objects. -- Gordon Ecker 09:01, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
