I made this page. Hope it's helpful. If it's not clear enough just yell. --TimeToGetIntense 16:04, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

I never knew there was a word for this. I've used Iron Palm/Shock on my war to interrupt 1/4 skills on a monk getting up from a kd. With an ias, use Dev hammer, attack 2 times and use Iron Palm/Shock. I've found that doing that will almost always interrupt a queued 1/4 skill when they get up. It's not too hard to time either. I've usually heard this called "Quarterknocking". Never heard it called "Quarterbreaking". — ( ɔ \ ʇ ) uɐɥʇıǝɹ Reithan Sig.jpg 21:06, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
I've also heard it as quarter knocking. I think they both get used though. Lord of all tyria 21:09, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I've heard it as quarterknock, quarterlock, or knock-lock but never as quarterbreak. That just sounds weird. :s 67.184.146.234 21:13, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
Yup. I rarely, if ever, hear it as quarterbreaking. It's always quarterknocking. Maybe move the page? --70.69.60.95 00:48, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

suggesting a merge[edit]

pretty obv. ··· Danny Pew Pew 19:06, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

I think this could be merged, as long as the difference between the two is distiguished. Also, I think Quarterknocking should be merged into this page. It would make more sense.—User Rein sig.pngRein 19:11, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
Actually, quarterknocking's a much more thorough article, and it's probably the more common term. (I'd never heard of quarterbreaking prior to seeing this article.) If you're referring to interrupt after a knockdown as a quarterbreak, I've personally always heard of that as "timing interrupts", but of course I'm no professional in the area of Guild Wars terminology. ··· Danny Pew Pew 19:42, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
It sounds more like quarterknocking is a type of quarterbreaking, which was the reason I suggested that it be moved here. Although, I'm not an expert at terminology either. Anyone else have an opinion?—User Rein sig.pngRein 19:45, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

Quarterbreaking is a much, much less commonly used term. It'd be much more logical to use Quarterknocking as the primary page. I've never even heard of the term Quarterbreaking before, and neither have the few people I've talked to - including Auron. ··· Danny Pew Pew 17:07, 16 July 2009 (UTC)
I'd merge it with quarterknocking. Never heard of Qbreaking before this article. --User Ezekial Riddle bigsig.pngRiddle 17:12, 16 July 2009 (UTC)
if you look up a section, neither has anyone else. =p ··· Danny Pew Pew 17:16, 16 July 2009 (UTC)
I've merged what I thought was necessary (which was just two categories). As with the rest of you I've never heard of Quarterbreaking before, but then again I'm not a PvPer. It's an orphaned page anyway so it shouldn't be missed too much. ~Celestia 08:23, 11 October 2009 (UTC)
