Vanquisher title[edit]

For the Vanquisher title, I killed 165 foes and earned 825 experience and 495 gold. Tedium 01:30, 23 April 2007 (EDT)

As I was leaving the area, I bumped into a Juniper Bark and killing it didn't add 1 to the counter. I forgot to mention that there is one spot where Shiverpeak centaurs were fighting some Stone Summit, but I didn't check if the counter changed as they were killing each other. I'm thinking maybe you don't have to find all the Juniper Barks that are buried underground for the title. Tedium 01:41, 23 April 2007 (EDT)

With vanquishing you don't have to kill any of the pop ups (juniper bark). Also if enemy are killing each other, your counter goes up,as you get credit for it.I killed 162 including 4 juniper bark Micro 00:20, 18 September 2009 (UTC)

Just did it with 167, though if I had travelled a few more feet it'd have been 168 as a JB popped up. 8 JBs in total on that run Kevio 23:19, 27 October 2009 (UTC)
Did it in 34mins, 166 foes. But, I caravan VQ'd from TOA, so had 3 people and 5 Heroes. - Monsta 02:42, 5 April 2011 (UTC)

Devona[edit]

Just to check if someone has ever noticed this, but I was fighting in this region once, and i encountered Devona running quickly somewhere. It's quite a long time ago and I didn't follow her, but she entered from the SE entrance. Anyone else ever meet her there? Nicky Silverstar 06:52, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

Yeap just had this happen to me.. was doing some quests in Traveler's Vale, going counter-clockwise, and when I got to the portal for Ascalon Foothills, Devona appeared from nowhere. I followed her. She went to the top of the hill leading to Borlis Pass, killed the 3 Shiverpeak Warriors there, and then slowly walked back to the portal for Ascalon Foothills and vansished again. 86.17.72.80 21:27, 17 January 2010 (UTC)
same thing happened to me just now ... i guess she just got the urge to go kill some centaurs XDSneaker 18:27, 9 June 2010 (UTC)
20 August 2010 between 1:00 and 2:00 (Central European Summer Time) I saw her entering after I completed the quest "Securing the Val" but entered Foothills for the next quest. First I thaught I was wrong but after I repeated the quest "Securing the Val" she appeared again and I followed her to the centaurs and back to the entrance.
Yeah not that it really matters but I saw her just standing beyond in the portal into Ascalon Foothills, kinda random lol. she is level 13 82.31.236.60 02:27, 6 November 2010 (UTC)

Wow...[edit]

Someone actually felt it needed to change the ~ vanq number from 166 to 167...its an ~ lol...--Justice 22:40, 8 April 2009 (UTC)

Vanquishing Tips[edit]

Should we add general advice for the vanquishing? Like, mobs are easy : If your party has any melee fighters, prioritise the Stone Summit Sages, Mantra Of Frost can make it easier blah blah??? I'd be happy to do something like that in my spare time, but I don't want to do it just to get it removed. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 118.209.148.204 (talk) at 03:51, 2011 March 10 (UTC).

The existing practice is to presume that vanquishers are familiar with general tactics and most types of mobs. Accordingly, current notes call attention to things that are VQ-specific, unique to the area, or otherwise not obvious. For example, pops, patrol routes, mobs in hard-to-reach areas, or zones in which it's counterproductive to take meta teams (discordway, spirits spammers).
If you'd like to see that practice change (to where the wiki offers something close to a full walkthrough of the VQ...or at least the equivalent tips), then I recommend bringing the idea up first on the Community Portal. (To get consensus on what the new practice ought to be.) – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 16:35, 28 July 2012 (UTC)
