Vocalist[edit]

Description - The Vocalist an adventurer who found that thier love of song could be used for more than just enjoyment. Some time in thier lives they started to notice the effects their songs had on thier surrounding world. Perhaps they first noticed that when they sang in battle they found strength that could endure. Maybe the noticed that thier companios slept especialy soundly and wounds healed quickly when they sung a lullaby at night. How ever they noticed, all Vocalists wish to find ultimate power in the form of song.

Apearance - Most Vocalists started thier life as bards and found them selves in the midst of adventure. Having possibly spen much time on the stage they have a taste for flare in thier clothing, however the realize the colorful garmets of the theater do not offer the protection needed for adventuring. By combining thier needs and desires for traveling garb they have come up with a unique armor. Thier armor is bassed of chain mail. This gives them an ease of movement and managable amount of weight. To liven up this armor they stich on colorful pieces of cloth. Sometimes this coth will resemble common clothes, such as a tuxedo, other times it may be a near random mix of different size and colored patches of cloth. Either way these colorful adornments never hide the true nature of thier armor.

Battle Style - When a vocalist sings thier song of battle thier weapon comes to life and moves of its own accord and can battle any adjacent enmies to the vocalist. When the vocalist sings thier song of courage thier weapons will defend them and their allies feel up lifted. Vocalists can only sing one song at a time. Most of thier skills require them to be singing a particular song. Example: The "Knighs Song" will bring out thier sword and start attacking a targeted enemy. Then a skill such as "Verse of Strenght" will cause the next attack to do bonus damage.

Equipment[edit]

Base Armor - Since a vocalist would frequently be in the thick of battle their armor would go from 15...70. and a full set would grant +10 energy and +2 Energy Recovery.

Weapons - While a vocalist could use any weapon they would specialize in sword and axes as those weapons are supported by thier songs.

Insignias[edit]

Bonded - When you sing a song you gain +1 Energy Recovery (non-stacking) and -1 Regen (non-stacking)

Resonating - When you are singing a verse your gain [1..5] armor.

Echoing - Your verse will instantly recharger [10...20]% chance.

Fading - You absorb [1...5] points of damage [10...20]% chance.

Inscriptions[edit]

Sword Soul - This weapon holds the soul of a sword and will respond to the songs of swords.

Harmony of the Heart - Your activate skills as though you had +1 [attribute] [10..15]%.

Attributes[edit]

Vocalization (Primary)[edit]

You have a 5...61...75% chance that your song will not be broken when your other skills are interupted or you are knocked down knocked down. Your Song grows stronger with each victory. You recieve 1...3...4 energy for every enemy near you that dies.

Songs of Swords[edit]

Skills that allow use of swords and increase the ammount of damage of sword skils.

Songs of Axes[edit]

Skills that allow use of axe and increase the ammount of damage of axe skils.

Songs of Hope[edit]

Songs that heal and remove negative conditions from your party.

Songs of Valor[edit]

Songs that improve your parties attributes.

Voice of the Wind - 10 Energy0 Activation time10 Recharge time - For 10 seconds you move 5...17...20% Faster but your chance to miss goes up 5...17...20%.

Voice of the Rock - 10 Energy0 Activation time10 Recharge time - For 10 seconds you have +15...51...60 Armor but move 5...17...20% slower.

Sound of Silence - 20 Energy2 Activation time30 Recharge time - All songs you are singing end. Adjacent enemies are knocked down by the force of the silence.

Encore - 10 Energy1 Activation time10 Recharge time - You repeat the previous verse you sang.

Songs of Swords[edit]

Soul of the Sword - -1Tango-upkeep.png, 5 Energy1 Activation time60 Recharge time - Song - All previous songs are removed. Your equipped sword comes to life and starts to attack as though you where wielding it. It can attack any enemy adjacent to you. Your weapon deals holly damage. This song lasts until you change zones or are interrupted.

Verse of the Valiant Thrust - 10 Energy1 Activation time20 Recharge time - Verse - You sing of the great deeds of the greatest swordsmen. Your sword thrusts at the targeted enemy attacking rapidly 3 times.

Songs of Axes[edit]

Soul of the Axe - -1Tango-upkeep.png, 5 Energy1 Activation time60 Recharge time - Song - All previous songs are removed. Your Equiped axe comes to life and starts to attack as though you where wielding it. It can attack any enemy adjacent to you. Your weapon deals holly damage. This song lasts until you change zones or are interrupted.

Verse of the Spinning Axe - 10 Energy1 Activation time20 Recharge time - Verse - You sing out a Valiant Chorus and your axe spins around you attacking 1...4...5 all adjacent foes.

Ode of Protector Axe - 5 EnergyActivation time20 Recharge time - Verse - You sing of the protective axe spirit. You block all attacks against you for 5...13...15 seconds. This verse ends if you attack.

Songs of Hope[edit]

Soothing Lullaby - 15 EnergyActivation time15 Recharge time} - Song - Nearby Allies are healed for 15...51...60 upon hearing the soothing sounds of your song.

Songs of Valor[edit]

Anthem of Hero's Resolve - 10 EnergyActivation time10 Recharge time - Verse - Target ally has 1...4...5 conditions removed.

Judging[edit]

  • Good point first: I love the visual you gave the Vocalist. I definately image them to be colorful and perhaps even eccentric or zany in their clothing. That aside, it does not give them an excuse for their skills to be just as zany. I don't believe the energy, time, and recharge costs are rightfully balanced. Take "Verse of the Valiant Thrust" for example. You spend an entire second and a massive 10 energy only to swing your sword 3 times at something that could end up doing very Mediocre damage. I think a + would help. And "Soul of the Sword", I don't think there's an "until you zone" function in the game. That could be replaced with some unconditional enchantment, I don't know.   • I think this is one of the best ideas i've seen in the contest. Unfortunately, it's not worked out well. The skills seem like they're only supposed to demonstrate the basic skill system and to fill the rules. You should've thought about more skills that have practical use in a battle.
