Images[edit]

I like your map of Rragar's L1. (It's cleaner than a lot of our other maps.) Unfortunately, it has a personal attribution (which is not allowed, per our image policy and ANet's licensing of images for this particular site).

Could you remove (or cover up) the by [insert name] tag and re-upload? Thanks! – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 18:56, 27 December 2011 (UTC)

Give me a few minutes to edit the file, right now im finishing the map for lvl 2, after i upload it i will change the file for lvl 1. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Dronichus (talk).
No rush. And thanks for taking the extra time. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 20:06, 27 December 2011 (UTC)
Uploaded a new screenshot for lvl 1 without contribution and new screeny for lvl 2 is up aswell. lvl 3 will follow after an hour or so. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Dronichus (talk).
Thanks again. It's nice to have a few maps with all the correct LoD locations (especially since I believe ANet plans to make them randomly appear again sometime soon). – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 21:17, 27 December 2011 (UTC)
Meaning im plotting the dungeons for nothing now ? just like they did with all the other chests ? :/ --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Dronichus (talk).
No, it's much better to map them now. Before the recent fix, the randomization of LoD was mixed-up with whether the glimmer would appear... the result was a mess: you could get a ping/no-treasure or no-ping/treasure.
Currently, they have it setup so that every LoD generates a ping/glimmer and every treasure appears. (Which makes the status quo ideal for mapping.) They plan to return things to the original design: a random number of the LoDs will ping and only those will appear. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 00:34, 28 December 2011 (UTC)
Meaning.. there will be less treasures in 1 dungeon but with the same spawn locations ? or, the same amount of treasures with same locations but they wont all show with LoD ?
In the latter case plotting dungeons now would be very handy for the future, i just dont understand why they would even bother to change that now with GW2 comming up.. --Dronichus 01:08, 28 December 2011 (UTC)
The latter: all the current locations will become possible locations; each visit will spawn a different combination.
The reason they are bothering is that the original implementation is still bugged: the plan was always to have some treasures spawn, but not all. In troubleshooting, they realized it was an easy first step to removing the current random behavior...and they decided that it would be a nice gesture to release that code early. In other words, the alternatives while they are finishing up the fix were:
  1. Keep the original bug, in which we see fewer treasures than planned.
  2. Offer the new bug, in which we see more treasure than intended.
I'm all in favor of keeping the status quo, but I suspect if they kept it up long-term, it would have unintended (negative) consequences. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 01:40, 28 December 2011 (UTC)

Remove vs archive[edit]

It's okay to archive old discussions from talk pages (but it's not ok to remove them entirely). The process is covered in GWW:TALK. (If you'd like help, post a note here. Plenty of regular contributors — including myself — would also be happy to archive for you.) – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 21:15, 27 December 2011 (UTC)

You can archive it for me, i just dont wanna look at it everytime i open my talk. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Dronichus (talk).
Will do. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 21:40, 27 December 2011 (UTC)
And done. (Based on your contributions, I'm reasonably sure that you'll manage to handle your own archiving in the future; pop me a note in the unlikely event that you need a pointer or two.)Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 21:44, 27 December 2011 (UTC)
Thanks allot. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Dronichus (talk).
Figured out the signing part aswell now ;) --Dronichus 22:59, 27 December 2011 (UTC)
Good to hear, haha. Just wondering, but were you planning on going through the other dungeons and updating the locations as well? ~FarloUser Farlo Triad.pngTalk 23:18, 27 December 2011 (UTC)
Well i still have a few other things on my list to do, but i was planning to plot the rest of the dungeons too, the ones that need to be updated that is, i did this one because i was too annoyed there was so much info missing ;) --Dronichus 23:28, 27 December 2011 (UTC)
