Ranger

Yes Clipping issue with Female Ranger Norn Armor.

moved from User talk:Gaile Gray

Hi (again) Gaile, there's a clipping issue with the new Norn Ranger armor for females. As a female Ranger yourself, I know this affects you personally. <nodnod> You can see the problem at Gallery_of_female_ranger_Norn_armor, and I've already flagged the bug. Again, just a heads up. :) Arshay Duskbrow 03:57, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

For the records, there are reports that this issue has been fixed. Thanks Arena Net : D Erasculio 02:03, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
Confirmed! The coat doesn't clip through the leg while standing idle anymore. -Kim Chase 00:53, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

I have gloves for my necromancer with obsidian armor. But I get a hole in my arm if I put it on with my obsidian armor. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:145.53.242.142 .

When are will they fix this bug :S --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:145.53.242.142 .
It is long ago, and still not fixed. I hope that you can help me. I removed it from the chaos glove page to put it here. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 145.53.242.142 (talk • contribs) 18:47, 22 October 2007 (UTC).
What little shame!... 2 month and still not fixed ¬_¬U.
Fixed in the 1/24/08 update -Kim Chase 01:12, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

Elementalist

No No Armor Glitch

Armor: No Armor

Issue: When the the male elementalist is wearing no armor his legs turn black and his hands turn black with claw like fingers
How to fix: N/A
Additional info: This only happens on somone else elementalist not my own

That seems like it might be a problem with your .dat file- it's not loading the low-rez versions of those specific images for some reason (which is used to display players other than yourself in towns). Try deleting and re-creating your .dat file with an -image and see if that fixes it. 24.177.34.51 17:50, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

Ritualist

Yes Ritualist Armors Bugged With Newest Update

moved from User talk:Gaile Gray

Hi Gaile, sorry if this is in the wrong section but right after the newest update, my Norn and Monument armors started appearing bugged to other people. I couldn't see it but others can see wireframes and I can see the frames of others with those armors on. I sincerely hope anet can fix this soon!

I am more than willing to help, but I honestly can't continue to spend an hour and sometimes considerably more a day moving things onto the proper pages. I am going to ask that you note, on this very page in the upper right nav bar, that I have a "Bugs" section, with breakdowns by category, and I am going to ask that you move this there or, even better, that you submit a Support ticket. Thank you very much for understanding, and for helping. -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 19:42, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
Moved, I hope it was ok. I can confirm I have the same trouble with my newly bought Rit Norn armor. It's only visible for others when they mouse over and for me if I zoom in. Will send a support ticket later, I guess it's the faster way to get it to the right team on a weekend ;) - anja talk 20:09, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for moving, and for submitting a ticket. I will also send to QA, but having multiple detailed reports is a good thing! -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 03:06, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
I have been informed that this has been fixed. Can anyone confirm? -- Gaile User gaile 2.png 17:56, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
Yup. All fixed, got both a male and female Rit with this armor and the wireframe bug is gone on both. Thanks you! =D Xitoahc 01:43, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
Marking as resolved. Thanks everyone. -Kim Chase 22:13, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

Weapons/Shields

Shields....Again!

moved from User talk:Gaile Gray

Ok so sorry to bring this up again but it's now even more relevant than before. Last time i pointed out that a lot of shields don't look right on Female monks. And you're response was along the lines that things were too busy with new content for GW:EN to be fixing old problems. Although i wasnt overly happy with this response i could understand it. However it seems that the new content has the same errors which now brings it straight to the front of the problems. Providing new content is all very well as long as it's not glitchy like the old content. Please See Talk:Equine_Aegis --ChronicinabilitY User Chronicinability Spiteful Spirit.jpg 12:45, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

ChronicinabilitY, would you like to see the spikes on my Assassin's gloves go right through each shield I find? :P — Poki#3 My Talk Page :o 13:13, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
A clipping error with certain armor art types is different from almost every shield not sitting in the right position for female monks. An error with male paragon animation was recently fixed (although they didn't fix the same error with the female mesmer) so I'm thinking that this isn't too much to ask to have corrected. - BeX iawtc 15:00, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
Agreed, this has been bugging me for months now >_< Really needs to see some attention.   User Riven sigicon.png    12:31, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

It seems they still havent managed to fix shields for Female Monks! =( These are NEW shields that still have the old problems...and its not like we havent pointed it out before!!....

I can't tell what I'm looking at. Would you kindly circle the spot and write up the issue? I'm really sorry, but I just cannot see what's going on, and it would be a kindness to just explain the issue rather than have us guessing. Thank you. --Gaile User gaile 2.png 06:01, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
I can describe it a bit. If you equip certain shields the character's hand is in front of the shield "handle" so it doesn't look like they are holding anything, but that it is hovering. I'll play around with photoshop in a sec to show what should be happening. - BeX iawtc 10:11, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
What he is trying to point out on this shield is the placement of the hand:
User BeXoR female monk Equine Aegis.jpg
This is what most female monks look like when they equip a shield:
User BeXoR female monk shield.jpg
Note how the top of the shield clips into the shoulder and the hand is not in the center of the shield but almost always in front of it. What are they holding on to? o_O I think the shield stays up solely because it's wedged into their shoulder. :P Different shields are taller and thinner so the effect varies a bit, but the most common problem is that the hand isn't holding the "shield handle" but is instead completely uncovered and holding onto air.
This is more what it should like for the exact same shield with the correct rigging/animation:
User BeXoR female paragon shield.jpg
See how the wrist is located theorectically where the shield handle would be if the game had them?
This doesn't happen on every shield (in my experience it tends to be the newer ones - for instance the PvP warrior shields look fine). - BeX iawtc 10:37, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for doing that Bex...i didn't realise how dark my image was when i uploaded it otherwise i would have brightened it. I'd also like to link here: Click Click Which is something Tankity came up with last time this was brought up. The Equine Aegis isn't the worst offender by far, but it's still bad enough not to want to run it on a monk. --ChronicinabilitY User Chronicinability Spiteful Spirit.jpg 11:03, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
Here's my thumb gallery inline. Starting with factions a number of shields have clipping issues on female monks - the gothic defender is a good example, the arm clips right through the shield. Most paragon shields from nightfall are either misplaced or clip badly - the GWEN shields are the same. --Tankity Tank 22:48, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
All of these shields are fixed after the 8/31/2007 update. Unless anyone spots a shield that's still bad we can probably archive this. --Tankity Tank 23:22, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Yes Flashing red enemies

Hello Gaile,

I know your busy my love, but i read on some forums that this glitch in which the enemies flash red alot when taking dmg, has been fixed, but after an hour or two of play in the tarnished coast i can confirm this not to be the case. Unfortunately i suffer quite badly from migraines and i don't know why, but this red flashing effect seems to be aggravating that condition, as my head is currently throbbing. Gaile my love is there any ETA on when this graphical glitch will be rectified as at the moment its severely impacting on my ability to play for long stretches of time on the game. Warmest regards -- Salome 03:12, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

Wow you sure love Gaile alot don't ya? And yes I've noticed some red flashing enemies still, but I don't get any headaches or anything like that from it. - Hyrule 03:29, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
See here -elviondale (tahlk) 03:36, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
Look, between "You're a #(%&*, fix this" and smarmy "my love" comments, I'll take the latter any day! :D As to the subject at hand, I will pursue this, as I do know further testing was being undertaken, but I'll see if it continues at this point. --Gaile User gaile 2.png 05:49, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
Oi!!! It's not smarmy, its a colloquialism! I was raised in Manchester, we call everyone my love. I just typed the exact same way i would have said it verbally to her *stomps off in a huff!* also it makes a change form "Gaile...whine whine whine...do this for me now....whine whine whine..." which you see scattered about the place alot -- Salome 16:21, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
I think the only population that considers "my love" colloquial, are lovers ;). Hmmm flashing red enemies, beating red, like Salome's heart...sending his mind in a spin.. XD. Anyways, i always liked the red flashiness, maybe you should take a rest and stay in the towns =p, chance you might see Purple wahahaa--WikiWu 10:33, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
Errrr.... okay. *Steps slowly away from the crazy person.* Anyhoo its not about what you like, Gaile has confirmed that the red flashyness is a bug and that they are trying to fix it. Also go to Manchester one day in the northwest of England and i bet you you will be called "sweetheart" or "my love" within a few minutes of talking to someone there. -- Salome 11:42, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
rlly? wow i never knew.. So what do you actually call your sweetheart in those parts lol, don't tell me u have to make up pet names for each other =P... sorry if this is off topic XD(oops forgot my sig--WikiWu 22:45, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
I've never really thought about it if I'm honest matey. anyhoo back to the topic at hand, once again ive had to log off the game due to a major migraine which i'm almost convinced is due to these daft flashing enemies. Admittedly i was playing for a very long time (my average game time each day varies between 8 - 13 hours) but still ive been doing that for 2 years and its only with the release of GW:EN and the flashing enemy thing that i have started to suffer from migraines and they are bloody murder. Please Gaile any news of when and how this will be fixed would be greatly appreciated -- Salome 02:15, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
Last I heard, there were still some monsters with the flash issue. I will ask Andrew if he can follow up with the team on this, since he's in the office and I'm not there just now. We do apologize for the last remaining flashers. Errr... ;) --Gaile User gaile 2.png 21:43, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
This is still an open issue with our team; it has not been marked as closed or resolved, so that tells me that we're still investigating the matter and making fixes. If there are specific monsters that are a concern, please provide me a map and monster name and we'll take a look. Thanks. --Gaile User gaile 2.png 00:07, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for this gaile. Personally i have noticed it alot on the bigger enemies. Such as the berserking bison in varajar feels (it may effect other bison but ive noticed it most here as im farming norn points there at the moment); also noticed it alot on many of the dinosaur models in riven earth, in particular the ceratadon and the raptors. Ive also noticed it on some of the simians in the tarnished coast too. I'll start screen capping areas where i see the overly flashiness and compile a file of pics where it seems to be an issue if this would be any help? -- Salome 11:40, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
Hi, Salome. Actually, you providing those names and locations is more than enough. I'll pass 'em along to the QA team and they can check out these beasties. --Gaile User gaile 2.png 14:59, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
