An achievement system is already in GW1 it's called titles (which is what they did in WoW, kinda). - Giant Nuker 20:05, 19 October 2009 (UTC)

I think Ravious meant more along the lines of "Successfully completed <VERY FRIGGIN' HARD QUEST HERE>". Since GW2 looks like it will focus more on PvE, I would kind of expect this to be in the game. --User Ezekial Riddle silverbluesig.pngRIDDLE 20:24, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
I am not saying to replace any old achievement systems either. This one I suggest would be a bit more of a side-line one. If you want to unlock some concept art you need to kill 100 centaurs. If you want to add another song to your jukebox you have to auction off 10 items, etc. Or yeah complete a hard event and get a small lore story. Just a fun little aside rather than drink for 10,000 minutes to get one title. --Ravious 16:53, 20 October 2009 (UTC)
That makes sense now and ya that does sound like a good idea. - Giant Nuker 20:04, 20 October 2009 (UTC)

I like this idea a lot, but i dont think lore should be given as a reward like this. Lore should be something everyone can access at any time. However i think it might be kinda cool if you have like a lorebook in-game but cant access the lore untill youve experienced it/ something related to it. Then once youve been to a new town or explorable area, or advaanced your personal story, you could have an entry in your lorebook about whatever it is youve just experienced. This is similar to games such as FFXIII, because i FFXIII does just this; you do something new and you get a paragraph of information on the new dudes you just killed, or the new town youve just walked through. They already kind of have this with the handbooks, so its not like its a completely new mechanic to implement, it would just require modification. - Jimmer123
