Update -- May 14, 2024I want to add some clarity around our policy regarding addons. Our general policy is to prohibit addons that provide a player with an advantage over another player. To increase the specificity of this policy with respect to GW1, I want to make it clear that using any addon in PVP violates the policy. Using addons always has risk. ArenaNet does not support any of these tools and using one can cause undefined behavior, especially now that there are more internal changes being made to the game. That said, I have been in contact with the GwToolbox developers. They have worked on a new interface to the game that should be more resilient to changes. And I asked them to ensure that Toolbox is not active in PVP maps which they have also done. As such, GwToolbox in its current state is permitted for use in PVE maps, though ArenaNet reserves the right to change this determination in the future. We plan on adding this policy clarification to ArenaNet’s Code of Conduct in the coming weeks. As a side note, I am aware that there is an outdated user agreements in the GW1 client and am working on updating it to match the current agreements, which are available at arena.net/legal. For new peeps to GW (or useful links to remember):
- Type "/bonus" from your chat line in a town or guildhall to get a set of free weapons
- Free (one time per account) 50k worth of Zkeys (while GW still offers this opportunity)- talk to high Priest Zhang in the Great Temple of Balthazar, then talk to Tolkano [Tournament] to trade in for your Tournament Reward Points for Zaishen keys (10) - second option from the bottom of Tolkano's screen.

Guild Wars Beyond: The transition from GW to GW2
- Chapter 1: War in Kryta (WiK) - MUST have both EOTN and Prophecy games, and MUST have completed one of those two (recommend EOTN for non-Prophecy characters)

- Note: In addition to farming for specific items, Craft Trading is one of the fastest ways to gain gold.
Beginner Farming:
- For beginners and low-level characters, one starting area could be farming Mantid Pincers in Sunqua Vale, and trade 3 of them to Marik Kuri for one Salvage Kit, Identification Kit or Belt Pouch. Merchants sell these items for 100gp each. One may be able to sell to players for 50gp each (about half way between what the traders are willing to sell and buy). Sunqua Vale is just East of Shing Jea Monastery in Factions. Marik Kuri can be found near the water edge to the south of Sunqua Vale. Repeat mantid pincers farming as needed.
- Note 1: the drop rate and quality of the drop will decrease if over-farming in an area. It is recommended to farm, go elsewhere to farm, and come back at another time. In some cases like buried treasure farming, it could take a month or more before the drops/rewards return to normal.
- Note 2: since hero(es) and/or hench(es) are part of the party, eventhough you do not see the drops, they will have equal share of the drops including gold coins. To maximize your farming, you may want to farm solo.

- Buried treasures farming can yield about 20k in cash plus gold drops PER character (not account-based). It is recommend that your character has completed Nightfall. Recommend to farm in Normal Mode since Buried Treasures farming in Hard Mode seems to have no impact on the quality of the treasure. That character will be unable to do Buried Treasures farm again for a period of time. Over-farming will result in lower quality drops (example: purple/grape drops rather than gold drops).
