Aggro control?[edit]

This is something I'm curious about, but not having this skill or the means to acquire it, I would like to ask everyone else...One of the rumored ways aggro works in Guild Wars is that enemies target those with the lower armor. If so, this skill would make everyone to target only the warrior, as he would be the one with the lowest armor in the group. We know it's not that black of white (that's not the only way aggro works), but I would like to ask if those who have been using this skill have noticed a tendency of getting more aggro when doing so. Erasculio 22:02, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

who said this was supposed to go on a warrior, this looks to me like a bonder skill, with aura of balth the bonder get ridculas amounts of adrenaline, stick this skill on it and BAM!! you got urself a partywide +100 armour =) Quazark Zeklar UserQuazark Zeklar lifebond.jpg 22:06, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
But then all the enemies are attacking the bonder with the lowest AL. Not a bad idea though. --File:VallenIconwhitesmall.JPG Vallen Frostweaver 23:30, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

I find it a good skill on a warrior, when combined with a dragon slash build, and infuriating head can help. This skill, at rank 1, probably mad it possible for me to do Dzagonur Bastion on HMKiller Revan 14:24, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
Hehe or just stick it on a Paragon, works great in combo with Spear of Fury ;) Liselle Morrow 21:53, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
Better yet, stick it on a few Barrage rangers. You'll always have +100 armor.-(Japanties 02:14, 18 October 2007 (UTC))
Yup, that's amazing. My Barrager uses it all the time. Ironboot 14:52, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

The skill states gain 100 armor not gain +100 armor, while all the other similar skills like "Watch Yourself!" and "Stand Your Ground!" use the +armour formula. Its not that the other party members gain X amount of armour to get to lvl 100 armour? Per example casters with 60AL affected by this shout gain 60+40AL to get to 100AL not 60+100=160AL!? Anyone has tested this skill?Spaghetti 13:59, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

interesting point. I might go into the Isle of the Nameless and try it out against the catupult damage (fixed damage so easy to test). 129.67.17.233 02:12, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
Save yourself the time (scnr), it means +100 armor, not upping the armor to 100. Would be quite a limiter if it would be upping to 100 only, and IIRC we have no skill that would work that way. --Longasc 10:27, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
If I said "Bring me a coke, and you will gain 10 dollars". Doesn't that mean you'll have +10 dollars? You're implying it means "Well, if I have 5 dollars, then I gain another five, to equal ten". In my world, gain = +, so gain 100 armor = +100 armor.--ChristopherRodrigues 02:41, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
In the French game, it is specified a +100 armor bonus--77.194.160.27 18:18, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

Armor cap[edit]

If "Save Yourselves!" gives other party members 100 armor, and not +100 armor, does this contribute to the +AL cap? Axel Zinfandel 06:26, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

Scratch that, someone decided to be a noob and edit the page wrong Axel Zinfandel 00:52, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

THIS SKILL IS GOD![edit]

This is the best skill in the game IMO, if u can keep this up all the time and hav a few decent healers, you CANNOT die

Campaigns[edit]

You are able to get Luxon/Kurzick faction without having factions. Wouldn't that make this a core skill, or do you have to own Factions to buy the skills? Because even if these skills are technically from the Factions campaign, if you don't have to own Factions to get them, they should be under core IMO. <>208.117.81.202 21:23, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

Wait, you can get alliance faction? How? There's Alliance Battles, which you can't do without Factions; and quests, which are pve Factions; there are other ones, but they're better documented elsewhere. Sure, you get the meter without Factions, but that's not important. Anything to add to those pages? --Chaiyo Kaldor talk contribs 21:34, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
you can do AB with the pvp access pack. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 217.87.249.231 (talk • contribs) at 17:46, 14 July 2008 (UTC).
Ah, OK. I think I checked that after I posted, or it might have come up somewhere else. Well, are the skills the kit gives all core? If not, you can't exactly call the kit itself core, so the skills aren't core. Even if they are, there are still skills which can be obtained outside of their own campaign through the Signet of Capture, so quite a few skills in Factions might also be called Nightfall skills, and many elites could be considered GWEN skills. The point is that this, along with all other faction PvE skills, was introduced with Factions, and that's how they're organized. --Chaiyo Kaldor talk contribs 17:54, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
You have to go to Cavalon or HzH to get the PvE skills, so you DO need factions to get this skill 129.1.156.104 18:12, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

August 08 update[edit]

There honestly was no point in updating this skill, it really made no difference. 'Save Yourselves' imo is one of the best pve skills out. I say this becuase i am an Imbagon and i run this skill always. now the increased duration is nice but really, a pointless update. you gave paras focused anger and spear of fury, there's no reason to increase the duration. on the otherhand, it would have been tons better if the armor was turned into +100 armor... no? now that's what i would call an update. =D --~Phill Gaston User Phill Gaston Sig.png‎ 17:48, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

Um, the skill is and always has been +100 armour... that's why it reduces 82.5% of damage taken! (that's why imbagon works!) - Revelation 18:17, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
Eh, saves me the trouble of grinding out faction for the track, as the imbagon works alright with only 4 sec duration (obviously 6 sec would give more leeway). --Zarfol 20:29, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
The duration wasn't increased... the scaling was. The update simply made the skill more viable at a lower rank seeing as it's been a long time since the skills were released and I think you will find most players had rank 4 or below in allegiance rank. As it is, to use this skill you only need to get rank 4 to get 1 second short of maximum effectiveness. 122.104.161.96 07:05, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
Stupid update to all the skills to be honest, means that all the guys that have grinded their arses off (including me) to get high tier titles for the max affectiveness have just been shot in the foot... --86.153.77.247 12:39, 29 August 2008 (UTC)

Minions[edit]

Does it works on minions? --Bargaw 16:17, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

Just tested it on lvl 10 Minions, time they take to die seems to increase, so I'm guessing it does affect them. 65.12.249.74 21:42, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
That's a pretty unreliable test. The best way would be to go as a P/W with a Necromancer who has summon bone minions. Go into Churrhir fields and kill the flamingos to gain adrenaline and provide corpses for the minions. Stand in a secluded place with the minions and the necromancer and use SY!. If you gain more than 2 energy, then you'll know that the minions were also affected by your shout. Mr J 22:40, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
After doing the above test, no minions do not receive +100 armour. They do not count as party members. They count as allies, so you see more than 2 energy from shouts that effect allies like Anthem of Weariness or "Go for the Eyes!", but only 2 energy from shouts that effect party members like Anthem of Flame or "There's Nothing to Fear!". Save Yourselves only gives 2 energy as it only effects party members. Anon-e-mouse 00:39, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
SY! should only give 1 energy in your case--195.66.94.4 14:58, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
1+1=1, right?

I wish...[edit]

Wish this would affect the caster as well, huh? But then the name would have to renamed to something like "Don't Die!" or something. I wish we all had enhanced shock rifles ;) (In red) of course... T1Cybernetic 10:36, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
Are you such a bad player that you need the whole party with +100 armour to survive? When the rest of the party have +100 armour, they're not going to die and when they're not going to die then they can support one person that is still somewhat vulnrable to damage (which is usually a warrior or paragon, both are which are the hardest characters to die in a balanced PvE scenario). When SY is up, all the non-killers have to do is push red bars up (if they somehow do fall down) b.r // talk 10:47, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
it would be great for farming though... Aartist21 16:49, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

question.[edit]

the skill gives the party +100 damage reduction. that means 82.5% dmg reduction.BUT. at which damage? i mean if you would take normally as a paragon with 80 armor...50 damage. with this skill and there's nothing to fear on you(100% dmg reduction) you will get 0? what if the damage taken is higher than 100?

Armor =/= Damage Reduction. Armor reduces armor-respecting damage based on a diminishing returns formula, roughly halving and rehalving with every additional 40 Armor past the base 60. The effects stack multiplicatively. With 180 Armor, you're looking at taking about 12.5% damage from armor respecting sources. With 35% damage reduction from There's Nothing to Fear, you'll drop that down to about 8.125%. MA Anathe 18:27, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

Stuck?[edit]

Does use of both versions gives +200 AL? 77.37.146.129 20:45, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

No. Frosty 11:36, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
So it doesnt stack?
No armor bonus stacks above +24. If two armor bonuses add to +24 it caps at +24 or uses the highest armor bonus, whichever is larger. Misery 09:27, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
but it does stack? not the armor bonus but having 2 people carry the lux and kurzick will stack on one another? and yes i do understand the cap. just wondering if the skill can be applied on top of the other. 119.94.243.101 13:03, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
if you understood the cap you wouldn't of asked that, offcourse they don't stack78.20.153.111 19:54, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
You can have two people with this shout (one lux, one kurz) use it, but it won't do anything special, one will just override the other. 72.161.123.22 16:45, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
They don't override each other. For this example, we'll use Speed Boosts. Speed Boosts ARE stackable, but they stop stacking at the maximum 33% boost. The exceptions to this speed cap are the skills Burning Speed and Dash. They exceed the speed cap, but do not stack speeeds. In the same sense, armor bonuses cannot stack over +24, with the exception of several skills such as Armor Of Earth, Feigned Neutrality and "Save Yourselves!"". DarkNe7h 18:47, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
The olny reason you may want to bring two of them is that you can maintain it on entire party, so neither of SY guys becomes priority target due to lower armor. 83.20.133.131 05:49, 31 May 2010 (UTC)

Nerf?[edit]

Am I the only one who thinks that this skill probably needs a bit of a nerf. It seems VERY powerful. Hmmm Combatter 16:24, 25 July 2009 (UTC)

Indeed it is very powerful, but it is still very short in time , and need too much adrenaline to be nerfed!

It's an intended OP PvE-only skill in a game that hardly cares about PvE. Not happening. --75.164.187.65 23:49, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
Needs a nerf simply because PvE isn't even challenging anymore. You don't even have to try, you just show up and win if you've got any /W with a build capable of maintaining this.72.161.123.25 06:06, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

Good nerf might be to increase the min and max duration by 2 seconds keep the same adrenaline and decrease armor to 60. So 6-8 seconds of 60 armor. But I don't know why people would complain, they don't have to put up with the skill or use it themselves. 98.160.248.68 16:54, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

According to the Shouts page, untargeted shouts affect targets in earshot, unless a different range is given, so I don't think it should have an indication as being a bug.
