Thoughts[edit]

This skill is so broken might as well make avatar of dwayna unaffected by hexes. --Lou-SaydusUser Lou-Saydus Hail Storm.jpg 22:55, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

Well since that is a broken crap link you posted I will say this is not a broken skill, just takes more thought for it than just throwing in eternal aura brainlessly and running out like a rabid weasel Nay the One and Only User Nay the One and Only SIG.png 06:37, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

Bug?[edit]

A lot of wording in skills is not correct. Don't know if I should post this here or under a Conjure, but this will take em all 3 at once. When wielding a Fiery Scythe, this skill makes you deal Earth damage. But, you're still wielding a Fiery Weapon. Quote from Conjure Flame: "For 60 seconds, if you're wielding a fire weapon, your attacks strike for an additional 7...19...22 fire damage.". So according to the wording you should still get the effects of Conjure Flame. So I ask of you, bug or wrong wording? BlazeRick 16:16, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

If it is true that you no longer cause the additional damage from the Conjure Flame/Frost/Lightning skill, then the Conjure's skill descriptions are indeed incorrect. -- CoRrRan (CoRrRan / talk) 17:09, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
Confirmed, when in Avatar of Melandru and under the effects of Conjure Flame, while wielding a Fiery Scythe, I no longer do the Conjure's additional damage to a foe. This is an anomaly in the skill description of the Conjure's. I'll add them. -- CoRrRan (CoRrRan / talk) 17:14, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
I wonder what other skills like Judge's Insight do to the Conjures then. Will test it myself later on today. BlazeRick 12:39, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

The wording isn't exactly wrong, just the wrong choice of words...to be more accurate it should say something like "...while wielding a weapon that deals <elemental type here> damage...". Since AoM causes you to no longer deal whatever damage, but Earth damage instead, the Conjures no longer activate. Judge's Insight will do the same thing, as would Avatar of Balthazar and Avatar of Grenth (though Grenth makes Conjure Frost work). 66.75.7.201 03:40, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

Condition durations set to 0?[edit]

I'm sceptical of the note which says that conditions are set to a duration of 0 while in this form, therefore triggering the effects of skills like Fragility. I've just tested it with Contagion (used Arcane Mimicry to snatch it off a hero), and Contagion doesn't trigger when I use Wearying Strike. --Mme. Donelle 02:54, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

Im guessing they all received a 0 second weakness... give fragility to them and contagion on yourself and try again 16:45, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
No, it didn't work -- if I'd given weakness to them with Contagion up, I would have sacrificed health, but I didn't. --Mme. Donelle 22:10, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

Bug...I assume[edit]

I was using AoM earlier today on my PvE dervish while attempting to cap other avatars. I died with time still remaining on my Avatar, and my entire party was wiped. When I resurrected at the shrine, I was still in the AoM form and had the extra health. There was no icon showing that the skill was still going, and it didn't end until I zoned out. Has anyone else seen something like this happen? Thefount 20:05, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

I have, but it didn't last forever after I was ressed. About 45 seconds after my party resurrected the form ended, even though there wasn't an icon showing I was an Avatar of Melandru to begin with. Silavor UserSilavorSigIcon.png 12:07, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

Why draw conditions, foul feast recharges faster.

Question[edit]

If you have AoM up, and then you use Heart of Holy Flame, will your attacks do Earth or Holy damage?

Holy Earth, ofcourse. Harrier 20:49, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
That makes perfect sense. Aldarik 20:52, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

Ring of Fire[edit]

This is actually a very useful skill to have if you are on the Hell's Precipice mission. The Titans cannot burn you, your health is buffed for the strong foes, and your attacks will deal Earth damage, which is very good against the Lich. Because your attacks will be dealing Elemental damage, a Ranger with the skill Winter should cause you to deal Cold damage, which will be strong against the Titans. This skill will turn the Dervish into the perfect Tank for Hell's Precipice. I know that it is only one mission, but the mission can be rather difficult for many people, making this skill very useful. Any thoughts? ~ A R A ~ 00:23, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

And you can stand in lava pools. Felix Omni 01:02, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
I've always liked this skill. The only problem is the whooping 25 energy to cast. Even with full radiant armor, +2 energy rune on a piece, and a scythe with +5 to energy insignia I still find my self using most my skills just to maintain my energy. Where I would like to take advantage of the "No condition factor" and deal some serious damage. But no matter what I seam to do my damage out put is always low and my over all Defenses are also low.--Yozuk 23:03, 13 October 2009 (UTC)

Bug[edit]

Can anyone confirm this? Playing in random arenas today against an AoM derv, it appeared that I could apply conditions to the dervish, they'd simply be removed the next time he used a skill.--TahiriVeila 18:35, 1 February 2010 (UTC)

That Sounds alot like Avatar of Dwayna, are you sure you saw a AoM not an AoD? --Neil2250 User Neil2250 sig icon5.jpg 18:37, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
AoD removes hexes, not conditions >_< Karate User Karate Jesus KJ for sig.png Jesus 18:38, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
Was definitely a tree, I was able to cripshot him and see hs bar turn green. After he attacked or used a skill the conditions went away. :< --TahiriVeila 18:44, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
It's in the notes, it makes the conditions have a duration of 0, doesn't actually prevent them from being applied. -- FreedomBoundUser Freedom Bound Sig.png 18:45, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
I realize that, conditions would normally show up and instantly come off. I was noticing a solid 2-3 second delay in between the time when conditions were applied and when they disapeared. That's why I was asking for some kind of confirmation--TahiriVeila 18:54, 1 February 2010 (UTC)

ummm, skill rebalancing here?[edit]

i know it sounds stupid, but this is the only non-caster skill that costs 25 energy? WTF is up with that? can some1 change this to whatever AoD's energy cost is? thanks in advance.

First of all, suggestions should be placed in the Feedback portal to have any possibility of affecting the game. Secondly, sign your comments on Talk pages with ~~~~, please. Lastly, there are multiple non-caster skills costing 25 energy -- this is one of them for a good reason. -~=Ϛρѧякγ User Sparky, the Tainted charr sig.PNG (τѧιк) 00:35, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

Tested..?[edit]

Since it seems that nobody knows how this works, I did some testing. This form gives full immunity (not 0 duration) to some conditions. It seems to allow infliction depending on the length of the condition applied. This skill is difficult to pinpoint, but here's a list of some things I tried and their effects. Note that these were all self-applied conditions.

Base Duration -20% Duration Weapon Equipped +33% Duration Effective Duration
11 No Yes No N/A
11 No Yes Yes Very Short Duration
25 No No No N/A
25 No Yes No Very Short Duration
25 No Yes Yes Short Duration

It seems that there is s certain length that conditions must be in order to apply through AoM, however this is made confusing by gaining immunity when not wielding a weapon. I would appreciate it if someone else did some more extensive testing. Thanks -~=Ϛρѧякγ User Sparky, the Tainted charr sig.PNG (τѧιк) 02:43, 10 April 2010 (UTC)

1) Make build with 1 Mel frontline Dervish. 2) Spam flash enchantments and teardown skills. 3) Enjoy your Build Wars'ing against 2-3 Grenth Dervish frontline teams! -- Oiseau | User Oiseau Melandru.jpg 05:21, 11 March 2011 (UTC)
Grenth Dervishes are easy to kill. You don't have to do much to shut them down. Seeing as many of them run Disease removal but lack sufficient condition removal and hex removal. Just load them up and watch them die. I've Killed them using Lyssa when I was being double teamed by them.--Yozuk 22:47, 6 April 2011 (UTC)

Will an "of Pruning" (+dmg vs plants) mod on a weapon increase damage done to a target under the effects of Avatar of Melandru? 104.0.42.202 02:43, 15 October 2017 (UTC)

Pruning is vs plants as you said, since this avatar doesn't turn your enemies into plants the answer is no. EDIT: Or you mean vs the avatar itself? The answer is still no. --DefinitelyNotHanz (talk) 10:18, 15 October 2017 (UTC)
