Early Comments[edit]

I believe Lightning Javelin will interrupt this one, despite the note of it not being an attack. Not tested recently. Backsword 20:25, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

I doubt the recharge time on this is 32, I bet it's 30. Calor 15:35, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
You gotta remember, this is a very old skill and is pretty much untouched since beta. --Lou-SaydusUser Lou-Saydus Sig Image.png 17:56, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
Yes, things were a lot less systematic back then. Backsword 18:03, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
Cooldowns are somewhat irrelevant to monsters because 1, something with a long cd will probably only be used once, and 2, they tend to spread their skills out (henchmen as well) giving more than enough time for the short cds. --8765 18:50, 26 December 2007 (UTC)

It is affected by Pain Inverter (like wurm strike) for a pleasant amount of damages, worth note it maybe ? lussh 09:43, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
It's damage type is physical, so any reduced phsyical stuff works. Dunno about the knight insignia. It seems to show no effect. But the rune of absorption does. →[ »Halogod User Halogod35 Sig.png (talk ]← 15:43, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

This skill[edit]

Okay, here's all the results.
It's an attack can be used anywhere. Like Cyclone Axe before they changed it.
The damage is physical. Is effected by any physical damage reduction mods.
Lightning Javelin does interrupt this. (Credit to Glacial Flame for helping test this out)
Like any other attack, this is effected by anything that has to do with attacks/attack skills.
Skill range is within earshot. →[ »Halogod User Halogod35 Sig.png (talk ]← 06:34, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

Cool about the Javelin; I usually take that on my air/water or air/earth builds if I have room as the cheap, low end, gap-filling, it's-better-than-wanding-someting semi-spam attack. And we did wipe or near-wipe once recently due to four or five of these all stomping in sucession when we were too clumped; the direct damage was actually less important then the 10+ seconds of incapacitation.
Anyone know if it has a hit chance or is otherwise affected by blind? --Star Weaver 07:31, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
Of course it would still work (will stomp and cause knockdown) cause it's just an attack skill that you use at the location. So therefore it works. →[ »Halogod User Halogod35 Sig.png (talk ]← 18:50, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

Does interrupting Giant Stomp with Disarm trigger the Interruption Effect? - (84.245.21.57 21:38, 20 August 2008 (UTC))

Presumably. Do you have reason to believe it wouldn't? Backsword 22:40, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
Yes, it's an attack skill, so therefore it will work. But I don't think that the extra disabling length works on monster skills. →[ »Halogod User Halogod35 Sig.png (talk ]← 18:50, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
Err..We're talking about ANet & Skills =P - (84.245.21.57 22:49, 26 August 2008 (UTC))

KDs Miniatures[edit]

This will not knock down miniatures that, in their "normal" form (the actual creatures), cannot be knocked down. I'll test this further later. --Gah User Gah My Name Cant Fi Echomending.jpg Eat my uber regen. 16:37, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

Wrong activation time?[edit]

It may just be me, but I've never been able to get off a Meteor (2 second activation, and useless as it won't knock down anyone who uses this, I know). From watching them use this skill, I think they're activating it way faster than 4 seconds. -142.165.255.44 01:03, 8 February 2010 (UTC)

A lot of the creature that use Giant Stomp also use Dwarven Battle Stance or other IAS. That being said, just from the animation I don't remember this being 4 seconds, I thought it was 2 or maybe 3. Vili 点 User talk:Vili 01:44, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
Hmm, I thought all of the effects of "you attack X% faster" actually only affected your weapon attack speed but if it really does affect Attack skills then that could be it. It would only bring the activation time down to 2.68 seconds with DBS however, and I think the in-game activation is a little faster than even that. Unless I'm just lagging unnoticeably so much that it looks like I activate Meteor before they activate Giant Stomp, when in reality, the reverse is true - but I don't think thats true. -142.165.255.44 03:47, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
Is this happening in hard mode? Cause creatures have "33-50% faster activation time" in hard mode. --Silver Edge 04:04, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
Wow, I didn't know that. I think that would account for the activation difference then, assuming attack speed skills affect Giant Stomp. I'll look at this in normal mode later just to make sure. Thanks. -142.165.255.44 04:54, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
Isn't Giant Stomp not affected by Dwarven Battle Stance or other IAS, since based on Attack speed: "The activation time of an attack skill is equal to the attack speed, except when the attack skill has an activation time listed." --Silver Edge 04:11, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
Attacks with an activation time hit halfway through the stated activation time; the other half is the return to neutral. — Raine Valen User Raine R.gif 23:12, 27 Jul 2010 (UTC)

Earthbind[edit]

Just realized that Earthbind means pure pwnage against those pesky Jotun. As Giant Stomp affects all creatures in range and Earthbing allows to knock down otherwise immune creatures, the Jotun keep knocking down their own group, making the fights rather funny. 138.246.2.55 18:19, 8 May 2010 (UTC)

Bugs[edit]

...or something. One of these Beast Masters with minimal health (smaller than 25) no, hexes or conditions, no one attacking it (we where busy with some others, and got KD:d) died after giant stomp. Its seems logical, since they hurts everyone (freinds to), and can actually be hard to program it not hurting caster. I dont know. Might be just a coincidence maybe, but still.--79.136.21.172 08:17, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
