Talk:Protector's Strike

Why is it that the warrior, paragon and dervish fast-activating attacks do not have an after-cast? As more of this type of attack is introduced it becomes evident that one is needed - particularly as they are abused to greatly exceed the IAS cap. Mystic Sweep, Eremite's Attack, Agonizing Chop, Critical Chop, Magehunter Strike, Protector's Strike, Savage Slash, Disrupting Throw, and Harrier's Toss all need an aftercast delay.

Maybe there isn't an after cast because you don't cast anything... Barkingllama 18:35, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
(Late) Most of those attack skills have been changed in PVP to a 1-second activation, which would help your predicament. -- Luigi User Luigi Sig.png Talk 19:02, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
I think he's talking about the ranger 0.5½ attacks. ArenaNet nerfed rangers to keep them from doing a rampage of interrupts. So they can just put 5 skills on the bar and shut down a monk for like 3 seconds or so. Plus, it's deadly in a ranger spike. →[ »Halogod User Halogod35 Sig.png (talk ]← 15:55, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

...Ugh, I hate this skill. It deals the same amount of damage as Power Attack and has the same energy cost and recharge, but it has a requisite. Sure, it activates faster, but that's the only thing it has against Power Attack and that's not much. If it's going to have the requisite of a moving foe, then it should at least do more damage. Or how about changing the functionality to, "Melee Attack. If this attack hits, it strikes for +5...17...20 damage. If this hits a moving foe, this attack cannot be blocked and your foe begins bleeding for 3...15...18 seconds." --Aldarik 01:12, 22 July 2009 (UTC)

Obviously, you don't pvp. ~Shard User Shard Sig Icon.png 01:15, 22 July 2009 (UTC)
Uh... what difference would that make? --Aldarik 01:21, 22 July 2009 (UTC)
It would help you realize hitting moving foes is common and that an axe strike meeting this condition does over 100 damage (without sundering or other buffs) to a 60 AL foe due to auto-crits.~>Sins WDBUser The Sins We Die By Sig.png 05:42, 22 July 2009 (UTC)
Is it me or does bull strike make this skill irrelevant? for me it does 10 less damage but also causes knockdown Sharpie 07:40, 8 August 2009 (UTC)
other niche really.Comparing skills to bull (one of the warrior keyskills) is a bad comparison anyway Lilondra User Lilondra Sig.jpg*poke* 05:48, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
People who run prot strike run bull's, too. While bull's makes targets fall down and die, prot strike makes them die outright. User Raine R.gif is for Raine, etc. 13:13, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
