When it says "you deal XX damage", is that additonal damage or damage by itself. Also, is this damage armor-ignoring? -- Da Si 00:29, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

It's added damage, but is still affected by armor. -Auron 00:55, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
Thank you. Da Si
hmmm it would be fun to cause some carnage with this skill and run it with moebius strike too, if you could get them both on your bar at the same time :( --Lou-SaydusUser Lou-Saydus Hail Storm.jpg 16:28, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
I could see A/Me's with Arcane Mimicry here. That would be sweet. 20 seconds of devastation? Oblivions Heart00:16, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
You might see 20 secs of devastation, I only see 20 secs of complete energy denial of yourself...

this and ooa woot love it--71.178.24.143 13:01, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

Why is the damage bonus from this skill affected by armor? It's the ONLY attack skill in the game that is so affected. I understand that it's unblockable and removes enchantments, making it absolutely brutal as part of a spike, but it's elite, costs 10 energy, and requires the assassin to have set up an attack chain beforehand. All hefty pre-reqs. If that's still a concern, split it into a PvE and PvP version, and make the PvE version armor ignoring. - 202.139.33.147 06:54, 16 October 2008 (UTC)

In what situations it cant be blocked? Deadly riposte blocks it quite well. Gunm 18:09, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

all situations? btw, go with the fox chain before using this, all unblockable + remove stance, which totally owns WoH monks with disciplined stance. 86.91.141.232 13:48, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
Actually, deadly riposte doesn't block it (unless it's bugged). It just deals the damage and bleeding anyway. And yes, you should be using this with unblockable starter attacks. --Jette 13:51, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
I did, he has just activated riposte after my wild strike. And 1st attack was blocked (+ I got damaged and started to bleed). 2nd hit him. Gunm 14:26, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
Riposte dmg and bleed affect occur on the next hit, regardless of weather or not it blocks that hit, the same thing with Sheild bash, if u hit a guy useing sheild bash with an unblockable attack, even though it doesnt block it, you still fall on your face and your attack skill is disabled for 15 sec. I think ANET should change it so that the effect of skills like those are associated more with the actuall blocking action instead of the the attack. but thats a discussion for a different page. But from what I gather from this discussion is that this skill does a set amount of dmg every, yet it is subject to armor?68.26.88.241 03:10, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
Correct. The bonus damage from this skill is reduced by armor, an oddity compared to every single other attack skill in the game. For example, while it may deal 53 damage per strike to an AL60 target, it will only deal about 27 damage to a AL100 target. Originally this skill used to deal armor-ignoring damage too, before it was reworked, so I'm unsure if this is a bug, or a deliberate effort by the balance team. - Zaxares 07:08, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

This skill is way to awesome :D--Blahishness 16:27, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

I guess they thought so too :( 131.128.72.3 03:04, 26 February 2010 (UTC)

Wrong symbol[edit]

This is a Dual Attack, not an Offhand attack, why is it using the Offhand symbol? Eive Talk Windgrace 03:54, 3 June 2010 (UTC)

Nvm, forget that, stupid moment. Eive Talk Windgrace 03:55, 3 June 2010 (UTC)

Damage type[edit]

Is it piercing? --Suxon my Kurdick 08:29, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

I'd say that it is safe to assume that the damage type will be the same as that of your weapon's. --Adul 11:25, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

Dagger Mastery[edit]

Weapon mastery directly affects base weapon damage, increasing or decreasing it by a percentage with each rank added or removed. Since this skill changes the weapons' base damage, would increasing the weapon mastery affect the damage from this skill? — Raine Valen User Raine R.gif 23:21, 11 Sep 2010 (UTC)

That seems somewhat easy to test, I may do so. Just as soon as I'm done procrastinating. –~=Ϛρѧякγ AHHH! (τѧιк) ←♥– 23:55, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
Yes, the damage is affected by your rank in dagger mastery. It also seemed like it was affected by your weapon's damage (not meeting the req. in my case), but I didn't test into that because I also jumped from 4 to 9 dagger mastery. –~=Ϛρѧякγ AHHH! (τѧιк) ←♥– 16:27, 12 September 2010 (UTC) 16:27, 12 September 2010 (UTC)
Edit: some numbers possibly worth noting are 2 > damage/level below 13 > 1 and 1 > damage/level above 12 > 0. –~=Ϛρѧякγ AHHH! (τѧιк) ←♥– 16:32, 12 September 2010 (UTC)
Could you rephrase that? — Raine Valen User Raine R.gif 21:09, 12 Sep 2010 (UTC)
Basically, the damage it gains per level of dagger mastery drops dramatically after reaching rank twelve, as expected. It would be possible to make a progression table of the damage it will deal at each rank of critical strikes for each rank of dagger mastery to a sixty armor target, but I'm not sure if it would be worth the trouble or space on the page. –~=Ϛρѧякγ AHHH! (τѧιк) ←♥– 23:27, 12 September 2010 (UTC)
Maybe make it a subpage? — Raine Valen User Raine R.gif 22:39, 28 Sep 2011 (UTC)
