Hmm I think it's really attractive on prot monks, although no heal. If ZB didn't exist we'd be seeing this by a landslide. Ninjas In The Sky 19:32, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

Kinda funny how this skill has been around since Prophecies, and got nerfed after NF. →[ »Halogod User Halogod35 Sig.png (talk ]← 00:26, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

It fked up the power creep oh noez thats bad right right ? /end sarcasm. Was op though like nuklear said FU on partywide scale.Lilondra 17:24, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

She's talking about Nukelear's balancing page. It said something like "This skill just pretty much says fuck you on party wide scale" →[ »Halogod User Halogod35 Sig.png (talk ]← 00:24, 18 September 2008 (UTC)

Needs a buff...[edit]

Now that we have skills that counter this perfectly (Mirror of Disenchantment), I think this skill should be reverted to its original form (if I remember correctly, this skill used to be party-wide) or a least buffed considerably. Duration could be increased as well as the armor gain (cap it at +40 armor, +30 armor just seems odd to me). Perhaps we could, at the very least, get a PvE variant including the aforementioned modifications. Any thoughts? --Kheraz Zarahi 04:30, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

This is not the place for skill feedback that would be here: ArenaNet:Skill feedback --Wyn's Talk page Wyn 04:39, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
Having a counter does not make a skill balanced :p Lilondra Eviscerate.jpg*poke* 05:40, 20 September 2008 (UTC)

Yeah this definately needs a buff - maybe lengthen the recharge (30s) and the casting time (2) and make it affect all party members. Basically, an elite version of Aegis. The variables would probably have to be lowered too. Firoas. talk 11:17, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

Check Weapon of Warding & tell me why this ELITE isnt 5sec recharge ?
On the contrary it needs to be nerfed. I hate this skill. At least my warrior can remove a blocking stance. Ramei Arashi 01:30, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
This skill used to have 5s recharge, back in 2006. I checked the Guildwiki when people started making wild claims about it having been party-wide, which does not appear to be true. However, it did used to be at least as good as Weapon of Warding, back in the day. A buff would perhaps not be misplaced, unless it was being abused in its previous state... which I doubt. Shatter Enchantment FTW. --76.166.187.131 12:18, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

heros[edit]

whats great about the recharge on this is that heros cant spam it. They can put it on one person once every 10 seconds which really cuts costs on spaming healing other wise.--Justice 01:47, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

Overall..[edit]

An ok skill, has its ups and downs, but I'd choose PnH over this in most situations. This should be used when there's a mass amount of something like barbs + minions, effectively negating damage, but even then, with a decent healer, another prot elite would be better. All in all, this skills needs a buff that doesn't make it resemble to SH. Sentry007 User Sentry007 sig.png 20:35, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

75% block + ~25% damage reduction from things that don't ignore armor, maintainable with an enchanting mod, hard to interrupt, can target yourself. This doesn't need a buff. PnH is good versus hex/condition stacks, but if they are spread to the whole party (Lingering Curse) or you just don't get that many, it's pretty useless. I would say that SoD is more generally useful. Vili 点 User talk:Vili 08:03, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
I wish the duration, cost, and recharge were halved. Or just the cost and/or recharge. =3 User Raine R.gif Raine - talk 08:08, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
It used to have half duration and half recharge, but still 10 energy. People used it often then. But that was before wtf obscene damage and other crap took over PvP. Vili 点 User talk:Vili 08:16, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
If I could use this every five seconds, I wouldn't need energy for anything else as a prot monk. WTB revert. User Raine R.gif Raine - talk 20:28, 5 June 2009 (UTC)
Fun skill for PvE due to large mobs. It's animation is awesome too. This is what I usually take for monking in PvE. Certainly not PvP though, due to it's cost and the heavy disenchant to be found. Good fun to use this in Hell's Precipice, especially when you get a group that doesn't know how to kill titans one at a time.12.6.238.154 23:35, 8 October 2009 (UTC)
It is very good in PvE for helping your Heal monk keep his energy nice and high. Maintainable with runes (who has a monk with no runes for PvE?), its very good as both a prot for your tank, and a safety net for your fellow squishies in the event of an aggro break. For PvP, its more useful in the "lesser" arenas, JQ and FA. Disenchantment spells there are generally reserved for Aura bombers and the like. FleshAndFaith 00:34, 22 January 2011 (UTC)
