Bonding[edit]

This skill isn't bad for bonders with a full 8 man team.

I think it should be: Remove one condition from target ally. If a condition is not removed, remove one hex from target ally. If target is enchanted heal for 40 (or some similar amount). Don't forget its an elite. Eth 22:47, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

Removed The...[edit]

Just removed the "Thus, Hidden Caltrops is countered perfectly." Sounded like there was a bit of "haha hidden caltrops your useless." Than 02:06, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

There are several hexes that cause conditions on ending. There are no conditions that cause hexes on ending. There are few skills that remove both hexes and conditions. Coulda simply re-worded it to, Skills like blah blah blah are removed cleanly. Justice 07:20, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

Maybe...[edit]

Create a new wiki section titled "Utterly Useless Skills" and throw this in there, along with just about every Paragon skill in GW. I haven't ever seen a player use this skill in the three years that I've been playing this game. ~ A R A ~ 05:10, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

Insofar as Dervs are concerned, this might be a potentially useful skill, but only if it wasn't elite. A Derv running Mysticism would be running a number of enchants, making the hex removal desirable, but this is just a waste of an elite slot. Maybe if it removed all hexes and conditions, it would see some use, or if it blocked hexes and conditions for some length of time. Of course, Izzy isn't ever going to bother with this one, seeing as nobody will ever use it in PvP. ~ A R A ~ 05:40, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
That would be rather overpowered w/o a recharge increase or somesuch. Free hex/condi removal every 5 seconds? They nerfed PnH for less. Blocking hexes or conditions would be interesting though. Certainly needs a buff of some sort though.12.6.238.154 10:00, 11 October 2009 (UTC)

Related Skills[edit]

Why is Divert Hexes there? I understand the other two because they remove one condition and one hex, but Divert removes up to 3 hexes, and what's more, it's a spell and it heals. I don't see how it's related. --[-Kyoshi-]::[-Talk-] 22:33, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

Not a crap skill[edit]

I've used this on Gwen specced in Healing and Insp. She has a few energy management skills, Signet of Removal, Signet of Rejuvenation, Mantra of Inscriptions, Dwayna's Sorrow (for the minions as well as the SoR trigger), and Heal Party. Acceptable from a PvE Prot Monking standpoint[edit]

I personally do not use this skill in PvP because I find the value of other Monk elites to be more important, however, I believe that this skill is actually acceptable from the standpoint of prot monking in PvE.

For one thing, in terms of keeping an ally alive, the most important protection skills are your "hard" prots, such as Protective Spirit and Spirit Bond. It can genuinely be said that a Prot Monk does not need any specific elite skill to keep a teammate alive in this format. Protective Spirit + Shield of Absorption will eventually reduce incoming damage to 0 on an ally. Spirit Bond in this equation achieves similar results.

Because of this, and because the primary role of a Prot Monk in PvE is to keep teammates alive through damage reduction, it permits the usage of a variety of elite skills that can be chosen based on which is best suited for the area.

Signet of Removal fits well this playstyle because 1. As a Prot Monk you are casting primarily enchantments 2. Monks as a whole have limited access to primary profession energy management, which indirectly places greater weight on zero energy cost skills for the Monk.

Now I do acknowledge that skills like Divert Hexes and Peace and Harmony are significantly more powerful than Signet of Removal when it comes to removing hexes and or conditions. However, I think the primary advantage of Signet of Removal is that it has not only a 0 energy cost but also a low 5 second cooldown, allowing it to be used quite often. This, in turn, allows the Prot Monk to save energy quite frequently for use with other skills.

Finally, I will finish on a note that I would still recommend Signet of Removal receive a buff of some sort because, even though I prescribed criteria under which it may be effectively used, I do not believe it to be powerful enough compared to alternatives, and I especially think that Empathic Removal, being very similar yet entirely unconditional, would trump this skill in many other general play situations. If you are tight on energy management and want some condition and hex removal, this would indeed a decent option. I also find the elite skill for my Prot monk to be the flex spot, though I tend to go with Life Sheeth. Da Mystic Reaper (talk) 19:52, 11 May 2023 (UTC)
