change in the skill window? not the first time, only heroes i think - Xx Evilyn xX 22:31, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

Correct. That's why I reverted it. -- ab.er.rant User Ab.er.rant Sig.png 00:59, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Proph > Purchase[edit]

Are prophecies characters actually prevented from using e.g. the changer in the battle isles to pay for the change/unlock for core professions, because they can do those quests? I thought you could just opt to pay (e.g. rather than slaying a blessed griffin for a rather insane npc). The preceding unsigned comment was added by Star Weaver (talk • contribs) at 18:37, 8 July 2008 (UTC).

Unsigned tag! You're it! While I currently have no Prophecies characters who have Battle Isles access and have not completed any other campaigns' Ascended equivalents or obtained secondary professions, I do recall trying to get them through the profession changer with no luck. However, it may have been changed since then, so we'll have to get more recent research. --Chaiyo Kaldor talk contribs 18:42, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
Probably a late reply, but the Profession Changer NPC in the Battle Isles will change your profession regardless of which campaign you started your character in, so long as the requirements are met. For some reason, my Prophecies/Factions characters can't change secondary profession simply by completing the quest Hunted. They must complete either Augury Rock (mission) or Nahpui Quarter (mission). --SetandSpike 22:48, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
The reason is because your character must first "ascend" in his/her originating campaign. -- ab.er.rant User Ab.er.rant Sig.png 14:35, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
Dont you think that an important note? i see that no where on the page. so im adding it. 69.131.130.124 11:16, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
I know i've changed my prophecies character's profession in Senji Corner w/o doing any of the desert missions. After doing "Hunted!" have you done the quest to make the profession changer appear? --JonTheMon 14:09, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
I ascended a factions character at Augury Rock and was able to buy a profession change from the Battle Isles (without completing Nahpui Quarter).216.239.82.15 02:49, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
Any character can ascend in Factions through Nahpui Quarter or Prophecies through the ascension quests, but ONLY NF characters can ascend through Hunted! As far as changing your profession, you can change through any profession changer but Prophecies characters have to do at least one of the profession quests in order to get the second attribute quest, at least that was the case when I tried it. --SunJinyu 16:40, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

Zuwarah[edit]

Why does the NF changer have to be explicitly spelled out for Faction characters? It says "Zuwarah (only after Building the Base: Prisoners of War)" right in the Locations area. --JonTheMon 12:51, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

The notes area is specifically set aside for exceptions to the rule, the main body indicates that the profession changer is available after completing the Hunted! quest, when this is incorrect. Currently, a test is being run to verify that this is also incorrect for Nightfall characters as well. The average person will come to this page already knowing the "location" of the npc, they are interested in how to obtain it. This information should be in the main body unless it is an "exception", at which point it should be located in the notes section. Verification, within 24hrs, will reveal whether this is an exception or the rule.TheRealGriz
No, it says you can change your profession after you have completed Hunted!, not that it gives access to the profession trainer. You could then map to, say, GToB and get your profession changed. --JonTheMon 14:15, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
Good Point Jon, I removed the exceptions from the notes area and added "Aquisition" to the "Locations" section, since both areas of interest are included. This should stand out more and prevents clogging the page. TheRealGriz 04:32, 21 March 2009 (UTC)

So How Does This Work ?[edit]

Wanted to change my rangers secondary to ritualist and Senji does not have this option. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.227.32.4 (talk).

There are a few possibilities, depending on which campaign your ranger is from. If your ranger is from factions, you have to complete Weh no Su (which you should have to be in Senji's Corner in the first place). Assuming your ranger is from Prophecies, you have to have Ascended first, as indicated in the article. Strangely, I get this question alot in game, all of the needed info really is included in the article. Good luck TheRealGriz 07:00, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
I found this out the hard way when I was suggesting to people who wanted to beat their doppleganger to assend that they could jsut go to the profession changer and make secondary mesmer and use empathy/distortion... I was quickly corrected by guildmates who informed me of the assention requirement. Since then any proph character I made I had the secondary in mind to beat my copy then after that it's anything goes... I usually stick with the primary profession until after level 20 anyways 192.203.160.241 15:20, 23 April 2009 (UTC)

Is it possible then to become a W/D from prophecies without doing hunted? NMN --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 77.160.245.68 (talk).

Unclear[edit]

If my Prophecies character completes Weh no Su, will he be able to change his secondary class? The article says "In order to change professions, you must be Ascended or Weh no Su" which makes me think yes, but then it says "To change your profession at the Battle Isles you must have Ascended, become Weh no Su or completed Hunted! in your originating campaign" which makes me think no (because Weh no Su is not in my originating campaign), unless it is only referring to a limitation on the Battle Isles and I can change my profession someplace else? - Brian Kendig 16:35, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

I have no idea why gordon added that note. It's simply not true. I've removed it now. Backsword 17:20, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

Quest requirements[edit]

Just to check, the Proph quests only work with Augury Rock/ascension, not Nahpui Quarter/Weh no Su or Hunted! (for NF toons)? 67.248.86.3 23:32, 5 June 2014 (UTC)

Checking the talk pages of those quests to find an answer to your question produced another question. Talk:The Monk's Path and Talk:The Necromancer's Path seem to imply that whichever secondary profession you had when you completed Augury Rock will cause the Prophecies secondary profession quest for that secondary profession to be unavailable regardless of what your first ever secondary profession was. Is this true? And does this only affect the secondary profession you had when you completed Augury Rock the first time (i.e. what if you complete Augury Rock again by repeating the mission with another secondary profession, does it cause the Prophecies secondary profession quests of those two secondary professions to be unavailable)? --Silver Edge 05:50, 6 June 2014 (UTC)
The combination of primary and secondary profession when completing Augury Rock for the first time will determine which 4 (or 5) secondary profession quests will be available to your character. Subsequent completions do not alter the available quests.
Completing Augury Rock is the sole requirement for those quests to unlock. Ascension is the only way to unlock them. The quests that unlock are determined when you successfully complete the mission. A W/R will find only the Elementalist, Mesmer, Monk, and Necromancer quests available, whereas a Rt/P would find all 6 to be available. This is regardless of previously unlocked secondary professions altogether. - Infinite - talk 09:27, 6 June 2014 (UTC)

Bug?[edit]

If you get to one of these without a second profession (for example, you get a NF character taxi'd to Cantha and get to Senji's Corner, say) the guy offers the possibility to buy the second professions without you having done the second profession "unlocking" quest.
