Many inscription names appear to be references pulled from across popular culture--popular quotes and sayings, books, music, plays, television, and film.

Guided by Fate		Possible reference to Diablo 1 shrine "The hands of men may be guided by fate" which granted +2 dexterity
Dance with Death	Medieval allegory of death. The Danse Macabre (French) or Totentanz (German).	Terry Goodkind's character Richard Rahl from the "Sword of Truth" series, and his study of swordplay.
Too Much Information		Likely a reference to the popular saying.
To the Pain!	Quote from the film The Princess Bride.	"To the Pain!" is a declaration of a very long and drawn out method of torture with the same name.
Brawn over Brains		Possibly a reversal of the popular saying "Brain over Brawn".
Vengeance is Mine	Biblical	Hebrews 10:30, Romans 12:19, Deuteronomy 32:35. In popular culture, a phrase often used by Stewie in "Family Guy."
Don't Fear the Reaper		Likely a reference to the song of the same name by the band "Blue Öyster Cult".
I have the power!	The popular 1980s (and 2002) cartoon "HE-MAN and the Masters of the Universe"	Quote often used by Prince Adam upon completing his transformation into He-Man (while wielding his Sword of Power).
Hale and Hearty	Idiom	Refers to a person with vitality.
Have Faith		Likely a reference to the same popular saying.
Don't call it a comeback!	Quote from rap artist LL Cool J.
I am Sorrow.	Shakespeare	Likely from Shakespeare's The Tempest: "I am sorrow for thee". Possibly a reference to Chaucer's The Book of the Duchess: "For I am sorrow, and sorrow is I".
Seize the Day	Latin	Translation of the Latin phrase "Carpe Diem." Also a song by Avenged Sevenfold by the same name, or may be a reference to a favourite quote of Robert Keating in Dead Poets Society movie. Also a quote from the old man who gets his marbles back at the end of "Hook".
Don't Think Twice		Possibly Bob Dylan: Don't think twice, It's All Right
Let the Memory Live Again		Possibly a reference to a line from the song "Memory" from the musical Cats
Aptitude not Attitude	Quote	Zig Ziglar's quote on learning. Possibly a reversal on the common saying.
Not the face!		Likely a quote from the movie Blazing Saddles. Also used in the popular Halo machinima, Red vs. Blue. Also Arthur's battle cry from 'The Tick' May also be a reference to the final words of Joachim Murat, King of the Two Sicilies, who ordered his own firing squad to shoot for his heart and avoid his face.
Leaf on the Wind	Popular Saying	Likely a quote from the movie Serenity. The full quote being "I am a leaf on the wind, watch how I soar."
Like a Rolling Stone		Likely a reference to the Bob Dylan song of the same name. Also likely to be a reference to the saying that a rolling stone gathers no moss. Could also be to the band "The Rolling Stones" or to Hank Williams song "Lost Highway."
Riders on the Storm		Likely a reference to the song of the same name by the band "The Doors". A reference to a movie Storm Riders perhaps.
Sleep Now in the Fire		Title of a song by the band "Rage Against the Machine".
Through Thick and Thin	Popular Saying	Dating back to at least the 10th century when it appeared in the Exeter Book, a collection of poetry from Anglo-Saxon England. People use this idiom when they want to describe pressing on through any obstacle, or sticking with something to the very end. Also a repetitive line in Echo and the Bunnymen's "The Killing Moon."
The Riddle of Steel		A plot element from the 1982 film Conan the Barbarian.
Sheltered by Faith	Biblical	Ephesians 6:16 "...take up the large shield of faith..."
Run For Your Life!		Possibly a reference to the Beatles song Run For Your Life Possibly a reference to the Iron Maiden song "Run To The Hills" "Run to the hills, Run for your life" Possibly a reference to the movie Silent Night, Deadly Night, wherein the main character is told to do so by his maddened grandfather
Nothing to Fear		Possibly a reference to the phrase "Nothing to fear but fear itself".
Luck of the Draw		Possibly a reference to the same popular saying.
Fear Cuts Deeper		Possibly a reference to "A Song of Ice and Fire", a fantasy novel by George R. R. Martin.
I Can See Clearly Now		Likely a reference to the theme song "I Can See Clearly Now" by Johnny Nash.
Swift as the Wind		Likely a reference to the song "Swift as the Wind" by The Incredible String Band
Strength of Body		Possibly a partial reference to many martial arts "Strength of body and mind."
Cast Out the Unclean		Possibly a reference to exorcism
Pure of Heart	Biblical	Reference to the Beatitudes: "Blessed are the pure in heart.." (Matthew 5:8)
Soundness of Mind		A reference to the popular saying "Have a sound mind", meaning to think clearly through a decision.
Only the Strong Survive		Possibly a reference to the movie of the same name.
Hail to the King		One of the one-liners by Ash the hero in Army of Darkness. Possibly a reference to a famous saying by Duke Nukem in Duke Nukem 3D "Hail To The King, Baby"
Faith is My Shield		A phrase used by the Space Marines in the Warhammer 40,000 book series and RTS games. Could also be a biblical reference to Ephesians 6:16.
Might Makes Right		A popular saying originating from Plato's The Republic, 380 BC: "I proclaim that might is right, justice, the interest of the stronger."
Knowing is Half the Battle.	Quote from the cartoon G.I. Joe.	A reference to popular saying taken from the cartoon's PSAs.
Man for All Seasons		Likely a reference to the play of the same name by Robert Bolt. Also a Robbie Williams Song and theme for Movie Johnny English
Survival of the Fittest	Herbert Spencer's description of evolution.	Principles of Biology of 1864, vol. 1, p. 444, writing "This survival of the fittest, which I have here sought to express in mechanical terms, is that which Mr. Darwin has called "natural selection, ...".
Ignorance is Bliss		Possibly a reference to the same popular saying. Possibly a reference to a quote from the movie The Matrix.
Life is Pain	Translation of saying attributed to Siddhārtha Gautama	Probably a reference to the movie The Princess Bride. "Life is pain, Highness! Anyone who says otherwise is selling something."
Down But Not Out		Boxing reference. Possible a reference to the line "I'm down, but not out!" in the Incubus song Beware! Criminal
Be Just and Fear Not	From Shakespeare's Henry VIII	This is written on a tombstone in the wedding scene of the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Live for Today		Possibly a reference to Einstein's quote "Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop asking questions." Also might be a reference to the 1967 song "Let's Live for Today," by The Grass Roots.
Master of My Domain		Probably a reference to the episode of the television series "Seinfeld" called "The Contest" where the characters frequently say "Master of my domain".
Serenity Now		Likely a reference to the episode of television series "Seinfeld" named "The Serenity Now".
Forget Me Not		Possibly a reference to the flower of the same name.
Measure for Measure		Possibly a reference to the Shakespearean play of the same name.
Show me the money!	Phrase used in sports management, esp. boxing.	Likely a reference to the well known phrase from the movie Jerry Maguire. Also a known cheat for Starcraft and Dungeon Keeper 2.
