Weather, environments, and more!(Discussion)

Alright, for my main idea to work, the following would have to be implemented into Guild Wars 2:

1. Advanced weather system.

2. Day and Night System.

3. Seasons depending on time of year.

Alright, with those in mind, my idea comes into play. The idea for a day and night system could be very unique and be much more useful than just going from day to night. During the day, there could be a wide variety of monsters inhabiting an area, but when night started to fall, more and more of the "daytime" monsters would start to disappear and more and more 'nighttime' ones would begin to appear, giving the game a very unique twist to it and would keep things more interesting.

On top of the monsters idea, certain quests could only be obtainable depending on the day. I know some of you will probably complain over this, but read the rest and you may not think its so bad. This would give players stuff to look forward to depending on the time of day. Im not saying to make core quests to the story of Guild Wars 2 act on this system. Im talking about side quests; things like Villainy of Galrath and such. Core quests should be obtainable regardless of time of day, in my opinion.

Last, the idea about seasons is a mix of the first two. First off, depending on the time of year, different creatures could inhabit different areas, giving the game an even greater sense of uniqueness. As for the quests, there could be hundreds of unique quest designed specifically for a particular season. --Mo Honna 23:03, 12 July 2008 (UTC)

Also, please read this suggestion. The idea of migration would also play an amazing roll in the game.

Why this is a good idea
  • Adds so much potential to the game and gives players something to look forward to depending on the time of day or year.
  • Would be an absolutley amazing element to stop repetetive 'grinds'
Why it may not work out
  • Could possibly be to much for the Guild Wars 2 game engine to handle effectively
  • Players with crappy computers wouldnt be able to properly enjoy it.
