Item Spells are a type of spell that creates a bundle object in the caster's hands. While holding the bundle, the caster receives a passive bonus. Upon the end of the spell, either by the duration expiring or the caster dropping the item, a secondary effect with a larger area occurs.

Characteristics[edit]

All item spells share the following traits:

  • Cost energy
  • Have a hold effect and a drop effect.

Comments[edit]

  • Design: Item Spells are incredibly similar to how virtues function in Guild Wars 2. For maintainable seconds, the caster gets a buff; they can expend that buff at any point for an AoE effect. With this in mind, all item spells have been given a powerful personal hold effect and relevant AoE drop effect.
  • Power: While evaluating the power of item spells, realize that item spells cause the caster to lose their autoattacks, weapon related bonuses and (now) any benefits from weapon spells.
