Friends List Tweaks[edit]

  • Replace the status dropbox with a text field. The text field has a limited character width. By default, the status is blank and means "online". "Offline" can be inputted to hide the user's activity. Any other input will add an icon next to the user's name in the Friends List and Guild Roster. Hovering over the user's name will reveal the status message. A text command can also be implemented, as described by Sawyer Einherjar.
  • Private messaging to another online user will go through regardless of which of the user's character names it is send to. Chat window will automatically update the character name appropriately.
  • Increase number of storable friends.

Reasoning[edit]

  • A custom status message can be helpful in many situations. ("In a match, will get back to you in a bit")
  • Messaging to the wrong character name is a slight annoyance.
  • The limited number of storable friends can be frustrating.

Advantages/Disadvantages[edit]

  • Custom status message is more specific and informative.
  • Some players may prefer the pre-defined statuses.
  • Some players may not want to type "offline".
  • The coding to add each of these features should be very minimal.
  • Increasing the number of storable friends should have a negligible impact on server storage capacity.
