Feedback:User/BlackNova/Guild Officer Kick Limit

Although I have never encountered this problem, I'm aware that occassionally in guilds and alliances that own towns (luxon and kurzick) some players, shortly after being promoted to officers, kick players from their guild in order to destroy that particular guild for whatever reason (usually while the guild leader is offline). This can be very difficult to recover from, especially in these guilds that own towns and try to maintain a certain amount of faction. The 2 following suggestions could help prevent that from occuring, as well as be of use to other guilds in general.

A way to fix this would be to add a new tab in the guild window (G key) that allows the guild leader to set options that limit what officers in their guild can do and the extent of their powers. These options would use a pull-down setting (like under the Options settings in game) with preset opions to avoid it from looking clunky. These options would have the same affect on all officers.

Note: -The guild leader would be immune to these rules and would be free to change them at anytime. -This new tab could also be used for any future features that may be added.

Section 1: Officer Kick Limit: Options[0..10 or No Limit]. This would set the maximum number of members a single officer could kick in a 24-hour period. There is almost never a situation where an officer would need to kick more than 10 members in such a short period of time, and if there was another officer could still assist them.

The idea behind this is that the Guild Leader would not want an officer to go rogue and begin kicking everyone from the guild. In the event that a large number of members would need to be kicked it's reasonable to think the guild leader would want to be online while this is occuring, and could do it him/herself. The 0 limit is more of a formallity, as most guild leaders would not have it on this setting.

Section 2: Officer Promotion Limit: Options[0..10 or No Limit] If the above suggestion was implemented, some officers would invite new members to the guild and promote them to get around the kick limit. To prevent this from happening, the guild leader could set a promotion limit. Additionally, the guild leader may want to be in charge of who his number 2's are.

The default settings for these tabs for new and current guilds would be:

Section 1 = No Limit. Section 2 = No Limit.

Meaning that unless changed, guilds would still function as they always have. Many guilds have no need for these limits, so there is no need to burden them with it if they don't want it. This would simply add a layer of protection to the guild if the guild leaders felt they would like it.

There would be no recruiting limit, as this would hamper the recruiting process for some guilds (especially new ones). BlackNova 21:29, 4 May 2011 (UTC)
