Dual class system should be removed a.s.a.p,and replaced by SCS or no class system at all. DCS isnt good because there is no purpose of having it,its like making that every class can have any armor/weapon,same abilities etc.-if you do this, why having classes anyways?? With SCS you can also have great diversity. It doesnt mean that if you have SCS that everyone will be the same, because there will always be people with different skills, appearance, classes etc.

Systems that GW 2 could use as alternatives:

SCS(enchanced edtition)

Explanation:

I will explain this on present classes(NOTE!!! I will use up to 20 levels for this explanation like we have now though Anet stated that we may have 100 or infinity levels):

Class tree-so this system consists of one Class tree(similar to skill tree)that has its own branches and you can progress your character way you like(upgrade from starting class to more advanced)

Example:

Warrior(LVL 1-10)---Paragon(LVL 10-15)----Dervish(LVL 15-20) <<<<<-----Warrior is a starting class and you can upgrade from it to more advanced classes as paragon and dervish BUT if you are not happy with your decision you can always return to your previous class and vice versa(without restarting your game over and over)

In this system you have classes divided in MAIN Archetype classes and sub classes which provides great character advancement system.

NO class system(Job system)

Explanation:

This system would be based on Job system used by upcoming game Final fantasy XIV where you: 1)create your toon 2)Buy weapon 3)Start using your weapon 4)Gain experience 5)Buy skills/spells you like(sword arts, black arts....) In this system your skill is bound to weapon you use>>>>more time you use your weapon, more weapon skill(damage)you gain.Same goes for armor you equip on yourself. This allows you to progress character the way you like-Example-you take a bag and start gathering herbs-you get experience and title(herbalist),you take up sword and shield(you are warrior),take up bow or mage staff you get title(archer or sorcerer)when you start trading your wares among towns etc you get title merchant...etc. BUT if Anet takes this system it would be great if they would put that if you match whole set of some armor-example-templar armor(templar-helmet,gauntlets,leggings,chest plate and use swords and shields)you get greater bonus than if you would take example-linen robe, helmet, heavy armor gauntlets etc.....

^^^^^This system allows you to constantly change your proffesion(on a fly)-but this system should also have boundaries that restricts you from running with your toon equipped with mage staff, heavy armor and bunch of mage spells by applying greater bonuses for those that match correct armor/weapons and spells)

Core classes:

I am fine with having six core classes and wouldnt have anything against if core OGW classes stay intact BUT I want that names are changed because names of classes in OGW are kinda stupid.

It could be:

  • Templar/Defender
  • Ranger/vanguard
  • Thief
  • Acolyte
  • Sorcerer
  • Druid

^^Those names would fit better than old ones while core archetypes from OGW stay intact
