Personal choice for Private and Public worlds[edit]

I think gw2 should have the possibility to choose between being in a public world where everyone can come and go as they please and go into a sort of like a private world like the instances of the explorable in gw1 but where it effects the whole world one is in.

Public World[edit]

I have friends who want to play in public worlds so that they have the possibility to get to know new people who they randomly comes across in the world and just starts talking to. That is only possible in the towns/outposts in gw1. This is also nice for playing and say you come across a to dangerous enemy that you just can't beat yourself so you type on say Alliance chat asking for help and letting them know where you are and than they can just join up with you without you having to go back to a town or outpost to team up with them.

Private World[edit]

I also have friends who want to have the possibility to go anywhere in the game and be alone or with a chosen team. Perhaps only for a moment or maybe for the majority of there playtime. Maybe one wants to test his or hers own abilities to kill something, test a build or different tactics and than someone else comes along and starts hitting the enemy and kills it. Than you would have to sit and wait until that someone who came along goes away and than wait for the enemy to re-spawn before you can try again and than maybe someone else comes along and you just have to wait even longer to see if you can do this thing alone. Another reason for having the possibility to play in solo or in a chosen group of people anywhere in the game is maybe you just want to spend time with that group and don't want others to come along. Maybe you want to try with a group to see if you can kill a certain boss where there are always a lot of other people who always are there to kill that boss. Yet another reason for being able to choose to play in a private world is maybe you want to play in an area and you have someone stalking you, I know from experience from towns/outposts and other games what a pain some people can be and just refuse to leave you alone and keep talking bad about/to you (don't want to use bad words). Okhe more reasons, parhaps you feel like playing alone due to being angry, pissed of due to something/someone and want to be left alone for a while. This is in gw1 possible by going into an explorable(in gw2 I suggest this private district/world possibility) and put yourself on Offline or Do not disturb. This to be able to play off your anger to later rejoin the public world in a much nicer mood.

The option[edit]

I think this option to choose between public or private would be good to be able to do anywhere in the world of gw2 not just certain instanced dungeons/islands...

gw1 can handle all the explorables now so being able to choose if one want to be in a private or open world/district would not be much harder for the servers/clients than it is now in gw1 (unless badly implemented)

Than there is also like a friend said while were discussing my idea: "There should be a benefit to not instancing though.

Otherwise everyone will always use instances.
So perhaps when you instance the drop rate is worse
Or maybe in the public world they have a chance at dropping something really cool
(with a really low drop rate so it doesn't get camped)

I personally prefer the possibility of being able to choose if I want to play alone or in a chosen team for a while or in a public world and I know that all friends that I have been discussing this with feels the same way as I do.
