Feedback:User/Cladlow/Evolution in Expansions

It might seem a little early to talk about expansions but it’s no use talking about them after they are out.

We’ve all played a lot of games and one thing they fail on is change at the core of the game, MMO expansions often just add more of the same. Example new; bosses, weapons, armour, land, monsters or a new class that essentially plays like a mix of other classes. The expansion is just a rearrangement or plain addition to the existing game, while the game itself does not evolve.

I would like to see Guild Wars 2 evolve as it expands especially in areas we spend most of our time on...combat...

Examples; • On release you may need to have both feet on the ground to perform a combat move, subsequent expansions should allow combat moves to be executed mid air, this then evolves to aerial combat. • On release hiding behind world objects may not be available (you always show as a red dot of badness on the compass), expansions allow for line of sight vision, if someone is hiding behind a wall or tree or over a little hill waiting to zap you with a spell of “wet your pants” well they can hide and ambush you.

I really want to see changes that affect the core game mechanics, so the game is not just growing it is evolving.
