Beast master background[edit]

beast mastery is my favorite attribute in the game. just being able to take a pet around with me makes me happy, when i found out they were actually good in this game i was over the moon, my experience in games was that pets were just expensive things that looked good but sucked.

But...[edit]

despite being a beutiful attribute that i loved to death there wasnt much choice in skills if you wanted to be a pure beast master(which i did). i constantly found myself using a combination of feral lunge(dmg+bleed)poisonous bite(poison)scavenger strike(energy+dmg) and brutal strike(crazy awesome dmg), I wanted to do more but with these skills i had high dps for little energy and i loved that.

rangers can get there own bloody attribute[edit]

rangers can just stick to using bows, beast masters deserve there own profession, rangers can get there own bloody attribute. Beast masters would look something like something like this.

Attributes

  • call to the wild:Whenever you come into shouting distance of a charmable animal you gain 1 energy for each rank in calls of the wild. You may only gain Energy in this way 3 times every 15 seconds. a few beast master skills, especially those to do with energy gain, become more effective with higher calls of the wild.(I'm hoping there will be more charmable animals around in guild wars 2 so this will be helpful, not enough to make this class imbalanced though).
  • Love: no inherent effect. Many Beast Master Skills, especially those to do with the healing or protection of your pet, become more effective with higher love.
  • Punishment: Increases the damage you do with whips and your chance to hit critical hits while using a whip. Many Beast master skills, especially those to do with sacrificing your pets health to increase its damageoutput, benefit yourself and stun enemies, become more effective with higher punishment.
  • Beast Mastery: Beast Mastery increases the damage dealt by your animal companion and its chance to inflict a critical hit. Many Beast Master Skills, especially pet attack skills, become more effective with higher Beast Mastery.

weapon of choice The whip would have a bad damage output, at max it would be able to hit around 30 damage, its primary use is to sacrifice your pets health to gain some sought of benefit much like a necromancer might do. Whips could also stun enemies with some skills which would act as a short knock downonly enough time to annoy an attacking warrior or inturupt a caster. it would be used at half the range of spells, so the stuns will probably be needed for running away.

yes I know[edit]

I know that this is making something very small into somethinng really big, but there is a good reason for it. It is extremely fun to have a pet around with you and it would be even better if it could be made into an entire profession.

thats all for now[edit]

thats all i got at the moment, please post on the talk for improvements i could make or to tell me its great :).
