So, we've heard A-Net say that, in future expansions, they will possibly add new races and profession.

Well, I have a suggestion for the races, one per continent.

-Cantha:

In Cantha, I believe the choice is painfully obvious: Tengu. The tengu seem to have a large role to play in the (for lack of better name) Factions 2 campaign, with the Ministry of Purity and all that. I believe there is alot of room for customization here, and that many player would enjoy playing as one. I myself can imagine playing as a pitch-black Tengu thief.

-Elona:

Now, this one is kind of split for me, because there are two great possibilities: Centaurs and Undead.

As we've seen in Guild Wars 1, the centaur's of Elona were key to the Nightfall campaign. There are a couple pros and cons here:

Pros:

Centaurs were a large part of OGW.
We would be able to explore into the plight of the centaurs, as it was shown by Palawa Joko that he saw the centaurs as mere beasts of burden. I see little compassion there.

Cons:

The anatomy of the centaurs is COMPLETELY different from the other playable races. This wouldn't be a problem (see the Charr compared to the Asura), HOWEVER centaurs have 4 legs. Either you give centaurs a disadvantage and make them more susceptible to AoE because they are larger size, or make it unrealistic and keep the collision area the same size, where arrows could pass through your hindleg and miss.
ARMOR. It's not overly complicated to make a bipedal suit of armor for a human fit a large bipedal cat. Supersize a few areas, make room for the muzzle, give the claws some breathing room, etc. A centaur however? Not only do you have to make up for the fact that they have hooves and entirely different shaped legs, but it would be horrifyingly troublesmoe to take an armor design for leggings and design it to fit the entire rear section of this beast. Obviously, although they could (and would) pull it off magnificently, this would require a HUGE amount of work on Arena Net's part.
Centaurs have little going for them in terms of unique racial skills, as far as I can see. All I can imagine: Trample. Oh, and Elite skill... Enraged Trample. Yeah, that's all I got.
The other option (my favorite) is the Undead. Yes, bring in the animated corpses that make up Palawa Joko's army!

Pros:

The undead would bring a nice, refreshing variety to the racial roster in GW2, while still making it easy on the design team to create armor that will fit them.
Although it may take a bit of lore to explain, I can see the undead being a key part of taking down the Elder Dragons. Although Palawa Joko seems like a villain... Well, so did the Charr, correct? It makes sense that Palawa would want to be rid of the Dragons. It's also possible that we see the Undead overthrow the Tyrant and make a better, more cooperative society.

Cons:

It might be a bit of a stretch to say that you will be playing as servants of one of Guild War's main villains. It's kind of like saying you're part of the shadow army, or a margonite... (Okay, margonite DOES sounds cool though...) It'd take some solid lore to keep this option viable.
Also, they are undead. Anet would have to provide a reason for undead players NOT to have double holy damage (if undead in general have that in the final game). This could be counteracted by a blessing from Palawa.

Well, thank you for reading my suggestion! Have fun while we wait for this amazing game to come out!
