Hello community,
So I've been reading suggestions and posts because I'm extremely bored or i need something to distract myself and I'm seeing a lot of negativity about predetermined weapon skills (PWS for short). PWS isn't all that bad because if you stop looking at the downside like how it limits customization, theres actually many "upsides" to it. Like in GW1, you had 8 skills upto your full customization and you can choose whatever you want.
So imagen you are playing GW1 on the mission of Dragon's Lair. Yes this mission is very complex and there are many diffferent types of enemies. So lets say you are playing a necromancer (my all-time favourite). You know that there are 4 spell caster "chambers" and 2 physical/attack chambers. You decide to go with majority and choose a anti-spell caster build, but when it comes to the point where you are facing the 2 physical/attack chambers, you aren't as versatile as you would be if you were fighting spell casters.
So what am I trying to deliver? I'm trying to deliver that with the PWS don't limit your versatility, they actually somewhat increase it. If your a ranger and you are fighting a melee opponent, you use your ranged skills until they come at your melee range correct? and then you switch to your melee PWS and you are completely as useful as you were with your ranged weapons. If your a necromancer who is previously set to Scepter-Focus and experiances battle with a high-damage-dealing opponent, you would want to switch to your Dagger-Dagger set due to its healing bonuses right? If you were set to deathmagic in GW1, theres only so much you could do until you run out of healing capabilities ( corpses run out, minions run out, death magic attack spells arent very strong and if you are at a point where you are BEGGING for heals you wont get it, because you wouldn't be able to switch to blood magic for that self-sufficiency. Elementalists are greatly benefitted to this because they can choose between AoE, single target damage, healing, or protection. I sense they will be unbalanced and op and over-populated.
I think I made myself clear here, although i feel like i didn't. If you have questions feel free to ask and I'll answer them asap!
