Feedback:User/Erasculio/Expand the Zaishen Coins system

The Zaishen Coins system is a terrific idea. By requiring people to play through missions and defeat bosses, it rewards common gameplay, as opposed to many other reward systems which incite solo farming or other kinds of degenerate gameplay. I believe the system could be expanded, in order to fix some old problems of Guild Wars:

Weapon mods[edit]

We have been told it would be hard to add traders for inscriptions and other weapon mods. If we can't have traders, it would be good enough to have maxed mods available in exchange for Zaishen Coins. The coin cost could be made high enough so trading between players would still be an option, but those who aren't interested in trading would also have a way to acquire mods.

Common item skins[edit]

Rare items are easy to find. Someone seeking a Voltaic Spear would only have to go to one of the main cities and at most spam "WTB" a bit. This makes sense, considering how the large profit in selling rare items is worth the time it takes to sell something in Guild Wars.

Common skins, in other hand, are very hard to find. They are sold for such cheap prices that it isn't really worth spamming the trade channel over hours hoping a buyer would eventually appear. Which leads us to a situation in which someone seeking the rarest item in the game may buy it quickly, as long as he/she has enough gold, but someone who simply wants a Tribal Shield is not going to find it, be in game or even looking at outside sources such as GWO or GWG.

Ideally this would be solved through some kind of trading system, but given how that's not going to happen, I believe the Zaishen Coins could be used to fix the problem. My suggestion would be for Arena Net to add a new NPC in each major region, offering clean common weapon skins found in that region in exchange for Zaishen Coins. Someone seeking a Tribal Shield with no mods and an empty inscription slot would then be able to go to a NPC in Vabbi and trade some coins for the item, while someone seeking a prestige item like a Zodiac Sword would still have to either farm it himself or buy it from someone.

The Zaishen Coins cost of those items could be set in order to keep trading between players still viable, but giving one option for those who are not going to spam "WTB" for weeks looking for a common skin. One way to keep trading viable would be to make the weapons bought through Zaishen Coins to be blue or purple: given how gold items are seen as more valuable (regardless of their stats), plenty of players would still prefer to buy a gold weapon from someone than to get a blue weapon with the same skin and same functionality through Zaishen Coins.

Tolkano[edit]

Expanding on the idea above: currently, the game already offers common and uncommon weapon skins in exchange for Zaishen Coins: Tolkano does that. He could be updated to work for any character, from PvP and from PvE. It would make sense that a value of Zaishen Coins that Arena Net considers enough to reward a PvP character with a specific skin would be the same value of Zaishen Coins that would be enough to reward a PvE character with the same skin, especially considering how green items are not available from Tolkano. And players would have a source of common skins without being given weapons for free, but also without having to hope they would eventually find someone selling the skin they want.
