As many of you are all aware A-Net will not replace items/characters if you are hacked. I am setting out on a mission to fix this because they DO in fact have the ability to but they need a reason to set it in motion. Now those of you who have not been hacked or scammed or anything of the sort might be reading this saying "why should I care? it should be the players job to make sure he/she does not get hacked right?" well to an extent you are correct but sometimes circumstance is just out of your control. Maybe a friend gets on your computer and hacks it while you are doing something and later hacks your guild wars just to be a jerk. Anything like that can happen where its just out of your realm of control where you would never see it coming. Guild Wars is able to replicate/give items because I won the henchman skill bar contest and I was given my tonic. Now that being said if they made a tonic and gave it to me why can't they restore accounts/items/characters etc. Well every mmo has a back-up data where if something happens they can fix it. That being the case they should have back-ups of history, characters, items, etc etc. I am on a mission to get them to fix the hacker based problem because of a few reasons, 1. guild wars is a dieing game and people are quitting every day, 2. People get hacked and just say forget it and don't play the game ever again, 3. Those of us who work hard for things should keep what we earn and not have it stripped away from us no matter what. A-Net is here to protect its players (even the ones who get hacked due to their own stupidity) because regardless of how smart or dumb you are if you paid to play the game then by gosh you should be able to play it worry-free of being hacked by anyone. Anet also tracks IP addresses etc so if you do get hacked they can determine if you were actually hacked, who it was by, and ban said person for the attempted hacking. Was I hacked? Yes, unfortunatley I was. But I am not doing this for me but more for the betterment of the game. Please join me in telling anet we need hacker protection and need the ability to have items/characters restored when needed. (sub note here the restoration of character data is also useful because when they game errors out due to no fault of your own when you are trying to say get survivor you can have it set back so you can continue on your goal) Hope to see positive feedback and to any trolls who try to shoot down this idea please have reasoning behind it so I can try to explain ;) thanks.
