Feedback:User/Fluttershy/Sylvari re-design

First of all I'm happy this game will have a Dryad type of race, but when I saw the in-game model I thought "these aren't dryads, they look like silly elves!". Then I looked for the concept art and thought it looked a lot better then the in-game model (which looked like a cheap version of the concept), it's obvious that the in-game wont look exactly like the concept art but the Nords look very similar to concept, they fit well.

Then I read that Sylvari are being re-designed and my hopes were renewed. So I decided to give my best for suggestions and hope Sylvari will look as they are mean to be and wont be target of the usual negative comments done to elf-like races appearance.

Development from Folklore[edit]

I talked about dryads but in the wikia says ' The concept for the sylvari was likely developed from the sidhe,(...). This race in turn had probably evolved from the Irish mythological aos sí, also known as aes sídhe. ' and not exactly from dryads (Greek mythology), the fact is there, the creatures are similar in their traits/appearance, they are botanical humanoids. As a mythical forest creature, in my opinion, they should have a more mysterious and less exposed look, they look too bright in-game and don't blend well in nature like seen in the folklore and in the concept art, they should have some how a natural camouflage with forest surroundings since they body is made of it, botanical humanoid. In the legends of those creatures are usually hard to see which explains my description. ' The aos sí are generally described as stunningly beautiful, though they can also be terrible and hideous. ' Making them peaceful yes, but still show they are not weak at all.

Appearance[edit]

3 major things I didn't agree: overall colour bright, exaggerated non-natural hair, some details in the skin.

As I explained before, the bright takes the reserved, modest, mysterious appearance this race needs, the bright just look like they are calling attention at them: "Hey look at us we are so pretty!".

The hair looks they all go to the hair dresser everyday, some people might like it but I don't think it fits the lore. I don't exactly disagree with leaf hair but big leaves don't look "realistic" what I mean is that I don't agree the big leaves that are highly noticeable for the reasons I stated before. The type of material Caithe hair has looks very good, if it is needed a longer or thinker hair just get more of that material and stretch it and its fine. Obviously leaf hair makes the race more original but originality doesn't always mean progress.

The skin, besides the bright problem, is actually a good idea, I can just give ideas for it. As botanical humanoids, in the skin it must be seen botanical traits, one good idea is to make at least some of the skins have this rough kind of skin with botanic like surface, I embedded a picture for an example. Skin

I think its all I needed to say and I hope its read and noticed, I was not sure if I should have made it small or long, like it ended to be, I though long was more worthy to be read due to details so I hope it was fine.
