It's an exagerration to say HA is dead, but it's certainly declining. Here's some things to fix it up, in decreasing order of importance vs. workload.

Remove Zaishen[edit]

Zaishen is fun the first time. It is boring after a dozen times. And it's so stupid the 100th time you start rushing in before people start loading because you literally don't care about getting 10% anymore. 95% of HAer's are gonna get 8+%, and the ones that don't are getting utterly destroyed in underworld anyways. Skip the middle man, give everyone 10%, and send them straight to underworld. Maybe then there'll be less "no opposing parties".

Fix Hall of Heroes[edit]

Get rid of capture points and relics. It's fun and interesting, but if you go to any fan forum and look at people complaining about HA declining, you'll find everyone who's a regular at HA complaining that these are basically choosing a random winner when there's 3 players. In 2 players it's just a matter of who body blocks the stairs to the relic first. And capture points have been lame in every format of PvP.

Now, it's not as simple as just making it king of the hill again. From what I understand, relics and cap points were mainly put in to prevent the trend for those awful "holding builds". This needs to be fixed, and the fixes are simple:

A)Claim resource needs to have a smaller cast time, 3 or 4 maybe, and nerf song of concentration to only work on party members. Holding builds first need to make sure their ghostly caps above all else, and this makes it difficult to stop both other ghostlies.

B)King of the hill is instantly relinquished every three points gained. This makes it possible to stop a holding build that has already held halls and currently holds the altar. Forcing the holding build to at least reclaim once causes it's chances of winning to fall drastically.

C) (if the above are undesirable) Just modify king of the hill to be kill count as well. I.e. 2 points for every 30 seconds held, 1 for every kill. Holding builds will never even exist then.

Additionally, king of the hill has one other problem: in 1v1 the original holder has too strong an advantage. I've held halls with an utter trash randomway vs. a decent team just because they couldn't kill our ghostly in time. They were slaughtering us, we barely killed any of them, we won. That's pretty dumb. The solution (not my own, but very widely held): if it's 1v1, neither team is blue.

Bring back HoH influence for favor of the gods for Americans and Europeans only[edit]

This needs to happen eventually I'm sure you know, as players will start leaving to go to GW2 and you'll have to keep on balancing out how many titles are needed for favor. Americans and Europeans never had problem getting favor, so bring it back only for them.

Balance the gimmicks out[edit]

Use observe and look at halls. You'll almost always find 3 gimmick builds in Hall of Heroes, or 2 gimmicks and a balanced (and 90% of the time the gimmick build will win). Not really that hard to balance this either. Nerf "IWAY!", trampling ox, and add party hex removals. Done. Or look at my skill balance suggestions, or better just ask any high ranked player.

Remove caps and relics period[edit]

This is more a personal preference, but they're pretty dumb. Capping is mainly two parties running around, with whoever has fall back winning. Relics is interesting but forces the party to run snares, cutting diversity in builds. Most HAers I know and talk to don't like them because of the sometimes strong luck element (which hopefully this pages talk page will sort out if this is true for the community as a whole). Priest battles are at least interesting and courthouse favors builds with fall back but not incredibly so if there are 3 players.
