Let me start off by saying that I love the event system, I can not begin to tell you how happy I was when I read about it. However I feel like it is missing one of the most important feature of the old quest system. The nice thing about the quest system was that you could resume the quest if you were called away in the middle of it like if I had to go to class, now with the events system if I was in the middle of an event chain and I have to go to class I miss out on several very interesting events. There are two obvious ways to fix this, one is to make the event chains very short and quick, however this is quite likely going to remove the feeling of being a part of something big, another is to make the actual events very long however this would potentially remove the packed up to the moment action. The solution I have to this problem is a fairly simple one based in the bonus mission storybooks of Guild Wars. Provide an item/embedded piece of equipment(as in not wasting an inventory slot) called a Chronicle that you can use to store one chain of events that you can return to At a later time in an instances version of the area. This record of the event would be a one shot go at trying the event chain for yourself so that you don't miss out on something cool because you aren't a hardcore gamer.
