Feedback:User/Jarak/'Live' Events

As haloween, or any other event, approaches on Original Guild Wars there is always a patch followed by a sudden change in scenery to reflect the holiday season. With the introduction of dynamic events in Guild Wars 2 why not introduce the seasonal changes gradually as a string of dynamic events & minigames in the main cities leading up to and after the actual holiday. They could include:

  • Gathering materials for decorations.
  • 'Putting up' of said decorations.
  • Norn Example: The hunt & killing of a 'rare creature' that is traditionally eaten at whatever event.

Just a few examples anyway...

I'm not certain if this is already planned for Guild Wars 2, but it just struck me how sudden the different seasonal themes came & went on Original Guild Wars and thought it would create a better atmosphere in Guild Wars 2 by capturing some of the excitement produced in the lead up to an event.

Guild Wars 3 perhaps added an interesting & related note on the talk page:

...There was also another feedback suggestion and follow-up discussion concerning adding more Holidays to the GW2 calendar if you're interested. This would go hand-in-hand with your suggestion of a greater build-up to the Holidays. Guild Wars 3 perhaps 22:43, 25 October 2011 (UTC)
