Scythes are overpowered. Really overpowered. Unfortunately, Dervishes (other than their scythes) are really underpowered. 'Tis a bit of a sticky wicket, no? The solution, fortunately, is simple: nerf scythe damage and buff dervishes. By "buff" I mean "make them viable other than through lolrape damage." They have no knockdowns, no interrupts, no utility, and no reason at all to use them as a primary class, other than their avatars. Dervishes have 85 skills, 70 of which are useless and the other 15 of which are overpowered as hell. This is a problem. Give people a reason to use real dervishes, and maybe they will.
Right now, though, scythes are causing a bigger problem than Dervishes themselves are. Unfortunately, my exactly knowledge of how damage is calculated in GW is presently a bit lacking, mainly because I am bad at mathemology. So, I will be the first to admit I don't know what the numbers should be adjusted to, only that they need to move vaguely downwards. If someone with more knowledge of how the calculation works can explain to me why hammers are perfectly balanced yet scythes are lolimba when it says they only do 6 more damage, I'd love to hear it, especially since hammers are, y'know, actually dangerous with the whole knockdown thing (spammable deep wound aside).
Despite my desire to see scythes nerfed, I would rather not like to see them lose their ability to hit multiple targets. This is a fun way to punish idiots for being idiots and balling up when they should know full well not to stand right next to each other, especially in PvP. Even in HA there's usually enough room not to stand in scythe range, which is the same as "adjacent to foe," except the dervish has to be facing the right way too.
To summarize:
- Reduce scythe damage (ideally, by increasing the minimum damage and lowering the maximum damage so the damage is lower, but more reliable; I think 18-31 would be nice but if you want you can do 11-35 or something so they're on part with hammers)
- Buff Dervish skills in ways that will make them useful for things other than pure damage
- Nerf Wounding Strike. That shit is just dangerous.
