If there is going to be weather in GW2, i think it should have some sort of effect on certain aspects of the game. For example, if its raining, the duration of the Burning condition would be reduced for anyone (including enemies) in the affected area. And vice verce if its really hot, water magic hex durations would be reduced (or something along those lines). Similarly, if theres an event in which an assault on a small vilage occurs, and the attackers try to set fire to the buildings, it would be highly unlikely that the buildings would ignite if it was raining heavily. I understand this my be difficult to implement but, to be honest, if i was out doing my thang, and see some dude throw a torch at some houses in rainstorm, and the houses catch fire... well i would definately have to pause to make some sort of sarcastic comment :P.

This isnt a critical feature, but i think it would be cool to see. It would help with the immersiveness of the game, it would help (even if just a little) to achieve the realistic world idea you seem to be going for with the events system.

One more thing, it seems to me that if you can implement a weather system, then it shouldnt be that much more work to make it affect the environment in less gameplay related ways. For instance, again if its raining (yeah i know i use this example a lot... cut me some slack i come from England its always raining :P) then rivers would swell, and if its particularly hot the waster levels would drop.

Just some food for thought. I hope you like my ideas and would love to see what you make of them. - Jimmer 123
