No Weapon Specific Skills for Melee Classes[edit]

I really do not like the idea of 1 weapon type classes. I know GW2 will have a system that each class can used multiple weapon types,

But what worries me is the idea of Weapon Specific Skills. This is basically the same thing as playing a one weapon Class.

Why?[edit]

Because, if certain powerful spells require the player to use a axe over a sword in order to activate the effect, then basically the players now have to chose that weapon choice for those spells.

I don’t mind the idea of 2hander weapon skills versus 1hander weapon spells. But when the system gets deeper into the details of the weapon types inside the 1hander/2hander melee category, that’s when I have a problem with the system. I have played other MMORPGs which have classes like this who can use multiple weapons to choose from, but at the same time, it has spells that limit it to Axes or such only.

That’s not cool.

2hander Melee weapon needed for this attack

1hander Melee weapon needed for this attack

Physical Ranged weapon needed for this attack

Caster weapon needed for this attack (this option debatable)

Throwing weapon needed for this attack
