I would like Anet to expand off the use of the new Phase Technology for MMORPG worlds. I have a idea for how Hidden quest and areas could be done, using such tech.


Hidden Quest off the Mob Drops -[edit]

These quest randomly drop off of mobs when killed-

Your General send you to kill a group of Humanoid Spider tribe masters. While killing the Spiders, like your quest giver(Your General) asked, you stumble on upon a Skull with little flesh on it in your mob loot. You then click the skill activating a hidden quest. Quest says “You come to realize that the head in your hands is the brother of the General who hasn’t been seen in 3 weeks”. (Quest ask you to find {the General's Brother's Badge and Shield} in the Spider lair hidden somewhere around the field)

This is where the Phase Technology comes in. Soon after getting the quest, the game enters you into the same Phase of the zone with the Hidden Spider Lair is now visible and accessible.

You enter into the lair and fight your way to the items needed. {Mobs in the Lair can either be Hero NPC which requires a partner to defeat cause they Harder than a normal mob to Solo || or it could just be a easy mob thing, but I prefer the hero mobs since it’s a special quest}

Once quest is done you go back to the General to turn in both quest, then off to next quest and such. Hidden Spider Lair become un-phased or not, but would be best hidden if older players had a hard time spotting it, which is why I suggest the Hidden Lair become unphased after quest is done.

The hidden spider lair could spawn in different areas throughout the day, to keep things even more remote and secret.

Maybe these hidden caves could have a Instance Portal type load screen to access the Hidden Lair, in a persistent new area. (Similar to how the Main Cities used load screens to get to their persistent area). Players walk through the portal inside the hidden lair (if they in the phase), granting them access to this Spider Lair were a Hidden Event occurs, and players can ally with other players in the same hidden lair to fight in a hidden Event(Event System).


These type of quest are Hidden and completely OPTIONAL to the main storyline.



If enough players discover the hidden event at any given time, then a chain system for the Stronger Events could be made from the Hidden Event area, which could affect the players in the Zone as well.

While you and your team fight to get the General’s Badge and Shield, you run into the Spider Queen’s Drones guards. In a Titanic battle, you and your team accidentally bust open a Lava Vent for the nearby Volcano, causing catastrophic chain of events on the surface. The exposed Lava Vents, have released Powerful Fire Elemental Knights into the world. Now you and nearby players have to fight back the Volcano Knights back into their shallowly grave.
