It should. From prophecies release onward, the game has always pinged in yellow, and players always pinged in red. It was as clear as it could be: if you saw a yellow beacon on your radar, it was an indication of a point of interest, such as a key item located in that spot, or a wurm trying to eat you. However, a red beacon was just the idiot in your pug who tried to direct your attention to the group of mursaat while nobody had infused armor at that point.
But somewhere in time, the game mysteriously stopped pinging in yellow. And it is annoying. On the 4th level of Frostmaw's Burrows, people now think they have to attack the wurms, and run to their deaths. And the most toe-cringing example is when a red beacon nervously lights at the prime objective of a mission when you are taking the time to get the bonus objective. Like there is an utter noob in your team who is oblivious of the bonus and just wants to go on with the main objective. Very annoying.
