The Guild announcement area is a really handy tool for getting info out to all the guild members. However, often you will have things there that does not really need to be spammed every time someone log in, it is enough just to have it there for general information purposes.
I therefore suggest a split of the guild announcement box into two, where only one is spammed on login and the other could be read by actively opening the Guild window and look at the status tab. That way one could be used for actual annoucements (welcome new member x, birthdays, events etc.) and the other could be for more static information (vent passwords, webpage addresses etc). To keep down the clutter.
Could be a suggestion for either GW1 or GW2 really, but put it in the gw1 category for now.
