Feedback:User/Lorazcyk/Heroes shouldn't be so close to each other

Casual players often don't have time to wait for a Pick-Up-Group, so they're forced to play with heroes. Using heroes, they must spend their already limited time to Flag each hero carefully before they fight each group, otherwise the enemies can kill the whole party with just one or two AoE spells!

So instead of a vanquish taking 2 hours, it can easily take 2 hours and 45 minutes, simply because heroes are badly positioned by default. They are too bunched up!
With my suggested modification, players would still need to flag heroes once in a while, but a lot less often.

Easiest fix[edit]

One easy fix could be to keep the current formation, but spread out the heroes as far away as possible while still being in Earshot range of each other.

Pyramid formation[edit]

Another easy to implement fix. I've tested this with different heroes and positions, and all heroes and the player are still able to get the effect of shouts and chants. Wards will only affect everyone if the warder is in the middle position.

  • Your character is up front.
  • All the way at the back of the team, hero 1 goes on the far right, 2 on the far left, and 3 in between 1 and 2.
  • Between those three heroes, and the player, go the remaining heroes. In a full party of heroes, that would be hero 4, 5, 6, and 7.
  • This will form a pyramid with you at the front.

Several formations[edit]

Another option might be to have different formations. Add another button to the compass, Flip. It would act like this:

  • Flip - All heroes - Hero 1 - Hero 2 - Hero 3 - Cancel

If you click the Flip button, it will show formations. For example:

  • Flip - Pyramid - Hourglass - Bubble - Side By Side - Cancel

If you want to choose a formation, click the formation button. Heroes change formation. Now if you want to flag the heroes somewhere using that formation, Flip back, and use the All Heroes button.
If you prefer the current GW formation (where heroes all bunched up together) just don't click a Formation. If you selected a Formation but want to cancel it, double click the Formation.

These are just possible examples (along with the Pyramid example in the above section. The actual formations used could be different. Players, feel free to suggest different formations.
(Note! This is the aggro bubble, not the whole compass! Dark green is the player, light green the heroes)

In either case...[edit]

Regardless of party size, heroes start filling out from the back, and from opposite sides, to ensure they are spread out.
So your hero team is still close-by, but when an enemy AoE targets you, it won't hurt everyone all at once.
