Feedback:User/Messenger/Variable Component Armor Sets

The problem with themed armor sets is that it's hard to mix them up with components from other sets. Even where a dye system could be used to hide or unify the mismatched styles and details, the difference just sticks out like a sore thumb.

While a possible solution is to make all armor components interchangeable and aesthetically compatible with each other, such may be too limiting to the design to be practical. The point of an armor set is to depict and emphasize a particular style. To be able to mix and match them requires that they have enough similarity to go together- but that just destroys their uniqueness.

I thus suggest that armor sets should be designed with multiple components to allow players to pick the pieces they want to get the look they desire. The different pieces are all unified by the set's theme but provide the player options for customizing his toon's look.

To illustrate, let's say we have the "Wurmkiller" Armor Set.

It should not just consist of a Wurmkiller helm, Wurmkiller cuirass, Wurmkiller gauntlets, Wurmkiller leggings, and Wurmkiller boots.
Instead, it should consist of:
Wurmkiller Cap, Headgear, and Helm
Wurmkiller Breastplate, Cuirass, and Hauberk
Wurmkiller Gauntlets, Gloves, and Guards
Wurmkiller Cuisses, Leggings, and Skirt
Wurmkiller Boots, Greaves, and Sabatons

For example: Player A can pick the Wurmkiller Cap, Breastplate, Guards, Leggings and Greaves for his toon, while Player B might pick the Helm, Hauberk, Gauntlets, Skirt and Sabatons. Their toons may look very different from each other yet both are wearing the recognizeable Wurmkiller armor set.
