Feedback:User/Monkeyfeet/Provide Body Block Type Skills

A very useful part of the GW1 combat mechanics is the ability to body block the kiting or onrushing enemies. The removal of any inherent body block property for both player characters and monsters relegates this tactic to knockbacks, knockdowns, and cripple type interactions. My suggestion is that positional skills to manipulate the movement of foes do not all need to be offensively targeted. Adding a new type of skill (a 3 sec long general skill for all classes?) such as “stand your ground” that rendered a character temporally solid or very dense (slow movement through the character by ~90%) to hostiles would return the useful features of body block to combat. Additional skills such “wall of earth” that created an impassible wall a few bodies wide or tweaking the ranger’s Whirling Defense and warrior’s Shield Stance to make the character solid for the skill duration would create profession specific body block type skills. The body block dynamic is one of the many great things about Guild Wars combat that makes it stand out against the way too common agro-based tank, dps, heals monotony of many MMOs.
