In its current state, this skill is never used in serious builds, mostly because there are far better assassin elites, or even elites from other professions, to work with. It is also worth noting that in general PvP metagame there are rarely more than 2 or 3 assassin elites at most that are actually in common usage. My idea for a rehaul of this skill I believe would give it a niche to work with that would be useful in certain situations, and provide an extra assassin elite that could see more usage rather than seeing the same few builds across most players.

Deadly Arts

10 Energy¾ Activation time20 Recharge time

  • Elite Hex Spell. For 10 seconds, your next 0...2...3 successful dagger attack skills on target touched foe interrupts them, but recharges for an additional 5...2...1 seconds. If you interrupt a spell, it is disabled for an additional 5 seconds.

This would make for a fairly versatile way to interrupt and possibly cause some shutdown.

Conversely, this skill would probably need a PvE version that functions differently as it would be somewhat useless there. My thoughts:

  • Elite Hex Spell. For 10 seconds, target touched foe and adjacent foes are hexed with Mark of Insecurity, and are easily interrupted. When a foe hexed with Mark of Insecurity uses a skill, all adjacent foes take 10...30...35 damage.

This takes a small amount of inspiration from the powerful Mesmer Elite Spell Panic, providing conditional AoE interrupts and damage.
