Boreal Fractal[edit]

In this fractal players will chase down and face off against Feodor; the Norn who's homestead was taken over by the Asura at the beginning of the Eye of the North expansion from Guild Wars.

Objectives

- Follow the fuming Asura.
- Subdue Feodor.

Walkthrough[edit]

Players will begin this fractal standing in front of an inactive Asura gate. To begin, players will need to move towards the Fuming Asura at the back of the room.

Once they reach him, the Asura will shock Feodor, who will spring up and race towards the Asura gate just outside of the Asura's house. After passing through the gates, players will be confronted with Feodor as a boss, but he will utilize, and change, the environment around him. Once you reduce Feodor's health by 25%, he will move on to the next gate. Note, that the various enemies described will also be hostile to the player; their attacks will hit the players, but until Feodor is dealt with for that section, they will largely ignore the player. Be careful, as once he leaves the section, the enemies will attack the players.

Through all the sections, Feodor will use two attacks besides his melee auto-attack; He will occasionally leap at the players, creating a shockwave that will knock the players back. Also, whilst in melee range, Feodor will occasionally backhand the player, knocking them across the area. For each section, he will have other skills, which are detailed in each section below.

Gate 1 - Asuran Lab

After passing through the first gate, players will find themselves in an Asuran lab.

In this section, Feodor will be under attack from the various defense measures the Asura have placed in the lab. These are threefold. There will be constantly respawning GOLEMs from recepitcals on the walls, there are traps which will stun players walking through them, and finally, there are lasers which will target players that behave like the Basilisk beams.

Feodor himself will gain the following; He will occasionally smash the GOLEM's within melee range, showering the surrounding area with shrapnel which will bleed players and foes alike. He will also pick a GOLEM up in each hand, and throw them at players, causing fire damage and knocking the player down. Also of note; Feodor cannot be stunned, so the plates and Basilisk beams will harm him, but not cause him to lose control.

Once Feodor reaches 75% health, he will leap to the Asura gate at the end of the lab and run through.

Be careful, as although the GOLEM's will stop spawning once Feodor has left, the ones that remain will now target the players. Simply make your way to the gate Feodor went through to move on.

Gate 2 - Deep Cavern

Passing though the gate, players will find themselves on a ledge at the edge of a Deep Chasm.

Unlike the previous section, this section is most dangerous due to the environment falling apart around the players. There are local threats (Feodor will stir up a swarm of Cave Bats, and there are several grubs dotted around the place.) Feodor will use two skills other then his normal skills; he will shout something incomprehensible, and his next attack will down a player if it hits. He will also strike any walls nearby, causing stalegtites to fall around the area. These stalegtites will deal a large amount of damage and knock the player down, but are fairly easily avoided.

Once Feodor reaches 50% health, he will run towards the only Asura gate accessible.

Gate 3 - Dwarven Forge

Passing through the gate, Feodor and the players will find themselves in the bowels of a Dwarven Forge.

In this area, players will have to be mindful of the various Forges around the area; standing too close to one of these will cause players to catch on fire briefly. The dwarves in the area will attck both the players and Feodor, but once they reach 10% health they will retreat, running towards the doors on each of the various walls.

Feodor will again gain two different attacks; Once he moves close to a forge he will throw coals towards the closest player, creating a feild which will cause players and dwarves to catch on fire briefly. He will also pick up sections of hot metal from the forges, throwing these flaming projectiles at the player. These are fairly easy to dodge, and players can pick them up and use them against the boss for a while as an environmental weapon.

Once Feodor reaches 25% health, he will run through a door to the end to a new Asura gate, and pass through it.

Gate-Link Chamber

Players will finally find themselves in a chamber with several active Asura gates around. Feodor will panic, and turn to the players and attempt to put them down once and for all.

Once he makes his way into the room, he will transform into Bear Form, giving him double damage and damage resistance.

For this last fight, random groups of enemies will run through the Asura gates and attack the players and Feodor. Feodor will use three extra skills for this fight; once near a GOLEM, he will smash it into peices, sending a spray of shrapnel around him. When near a Dwarf, he will steal their weapon and throw it at the player, and finally he will shout something downing the next player he hits. Other than this, the fight is pretty standard.

Once Feodor reaches 1% health, he will transform back to himself, and mutter about finding a way home as he travels through an Asura gate. This will stabilize the fractal, and the chest will appear in the center of the room.
