This idea encompasses a few areas. It expands on the idea of protecting against hackers and might just allow a user to regain their account and not coming back after a day off and finding 5 years of playing gone. The idea is a seccondary password that is optional to all players to prevent trading/merching/salvaging/dropping items/deleting characters. This password is set in game (or NCsoft Master account) as well as a secret question and answer and the only way to reset it is through the NCsoft master account. This would be seperate from resetting a password. It would have a secret q/a to reset it. So even if the hacker is in your NCsoft account they cannot sabotage your account unless they can guess your secret answer. If this is forgotten then it would be taken to support to ensure you own the account before it can be changed (using CDkeys etc). The password would only need to be entered once per log in. There could be an optional enter aswell, If you do not wish to enter it and play the game you can, this could help stop players accidentally selling items to a merchant or salvaging something by accident. As soon as you log out the password is needed to be entered again upon log in to salvage/drop/sell/merch/delete characters.

Benifits:

-Seperate way to change the password from the other passwords so if someone does access your account using your password they still wont be able to remove your items and will give your account back the way it was. If you receive your account back.

-It is optional so those who do not wish to use it do not have to. It can be removed by entering it if the user wishes.

-Im sure A lot of players would feel a lot safer with an additional password to protect against losing their stuff. As soon as someone is hacked that is pretty much it. The best you can do is hope your characters aren't deleted.

-It doesn't have to be entered to play allowing players more saftey when organising things.

-If it is entered on the character selection screen then you have more chance to think through exactly what you are doing so that a mistake isnt make

-Im sure a lot of players would use this system having spoken to my guild at least about it a few of them having been hacked in the past feel this might have protected their things.

Drawbacks:

-There are draw backs to this, it might become annoying to some players that dont want to enter it every time they log on, thats why it is suggested that it is a totally optional implementation. It might be difficult to implement however it more than likely would save a lot of players from losing 5 years of playing.

-If the password is forgotten it can lock the owner out untill they contact support. However items can still be moved in and out of storage so the ability to move items around is not hindered within the account.

(These are just those i can think of currently i am sure there are more benifits and drawbacks.)
