Problem[edit]

I know every profession has their easy gimmick that works well, but am I the only one who thinks energy denial is a little TOO mindless and effective?

Whenever I have encountered energy denial in PvP, it's always the same thing, all skills used in succession, usually Mind Wrack, Energy Surge, Energy Burn, Ether Phantom, Drain Delusions, Ether Feast. Mmaybe a skill to duplicate something or decrease recharge time or skills, and Signet of Wearniess.

The fact that the bar is performed like a sin bar is the annoyance I have. Energy denial really can't be countered (sure you can weapon swap, but by the time you know to, usually the energy is gone) and it's a powerful mechanism anyways.

Proposed[edit]

I think energy denial skills should drain less energy when their target is not using skills/spells/etc when cast. This would make them kinda function like interrupts and be in line with proper timing of Domination Magic, not mindless spam. Also it is much more punishing to run energy denial during skill activation... then the target takes the energy of the skill they are using PLUS the energy denial. Usually this means that their skills cost double or almost double energy, opposed to not doing anything and potentially hiding their energy.

On skill descriptions, it could read either one of these ways:

  1. Target foe loses ? more energy if they are using a skill.
  2. ? less energy lost if target was not using a skill.
