Most who are familiar with the skill have a love/hate relationship with it. Most hate because it was so overpowered. I wouldn't know, I didn't know too much about the game at the time, and I don't care too much for PvP anyway. But the skill as it is now, for PvP, is just so sad to look at. I'm suggesting these as possible solutions:


Smiter's Boon Smiter's Boon 10 Energy2 Activation time20 Recharge time Enchantment spell. For 10 seconds, your Smiting Prayers receive double the Divine Favor bonus. Your Divine Favor, Healing Prayers and Protection Prayers are disabled for 10 seconds. Smiting Prayers

Double cost and recharge, increased casting time, and reduced duration, all of which still being manageable if used properly in PvP. The catch here is you can't use anything but Smiting Prayers, which becomes challenging when you're also trying to run backup your healers, if there are any healers at all.

Only catch here is conditional health. Again, challenging, but manageable if timed right.

Changed attribute to Divine Favor. Even more challenging than the first two options since you would have to put 15 in DF just to get the normal effect. You can still run a smite build with this, but you would have to choose wisely how to arrange your attribute points.

NEW ADDITION Another option I have recently thought up is I got to thinking about removing the aoe effects from smite hex and smite condition, two skills that were partly the reason SB got nerfed in the first place. Doing that would just remove their function so it wouldn't work in fairness to smiter builds. The Codex Arena's feature of putting skills in rotation, on the other hand, with special attention to this skill (altering the random program so that Smiter's Boon has longer odds of making the cut) could give the skill some usage again.

Admittedly, none of these are as good as the original, but these are more balanced for PvP than the original ever was. Thanks for reading and please reply constructively. :)
