After watching many of the Gamescom videos showing some of the GW2 features, it got me thinking more about the events system. In a couple of different videos in the Charr area, players were fighting the Shatterer. In both videos the Shatterer appeared to be in the same location. It may have been two videos of the same event or it may be two seperate occasions when the Shatterer appeared. Either way it got me wondering, do the events start in different locations or always start in the same place?
My suggestion is, if it is not already implemented or being considered, to have events start in different locations. So if the Shatterer appears in one spot and gets defeated it flies off and tries to attack another location, creating a new event somewhere else. Even if it is not defeated it could decide to continue it's carnage by attacking another area further along it's path of destruction.
I know that events lead on from one to the other and can move from place to place, but if the Shatterer always starts it's attack in the same place I think the event will start to grow old, and a player will only fight it so many times. But if it started in a different area each time different locations could offer different advantages and disadvantages. Some places may be better defended with cannons and mortars, or have more well armed NPC's to help fight it off. This in itself could make events easier or tougher, and in turn keep the event more interesting and enjoyable.
I know I will love the dynamic events system, but feel this would make it even more unpredictable and more fun in the long term.
